I have a 15% coupon from u-he. Valid until the end of 2017.
Owning all u-he synths (except ACM), I was thinking to buy Satin or Presswerk.

Since I can't test Samplitude's stock effects vs Satin/Presswerk at the moment, I'd like to ask about your thoughts.

    Tanks!

Well to me the analogue modeling suite is one of the high point of samplitude. That and the also included multiband and single band compressors with no fusses effectively transparent, perfect for quick task, and compression at object level. The two compressors also can be used as gate , limiter, and expanders and you also have the efx compressor, simple but effective tools.
AMTrack, AMMunition, AMPhibia and AMPulse (awesome saturation/transient tool), the analogue modeling suite are seriously incredible. Really awesome if you want colors, also you can add tape saturation for AMTrack and Tube preamp and pre/post filters (and more) in AMPhibia, if the optical (AmPhibia), or vca/FET (for AMTrack) comp emulations aren't enought... AMMunition is a beast, two optical compressors, followed by a clippper and a limiter, working in mid/side if need be. Those are amongs the few tools that can stand the comparison with Acustica Audio tools, imo, and that I keep using despite having those.
The guy who coded all those lovely tools is Sasha, which also happened to code for Uhe, so my guess is that PressWerk (also a great tool, but I didn't get this one for lack of need for it) also is partly is handy work. Not a 100 % sure about that though.
Satin is unique, very deep and well though, the modelling suite doesn't compare to that, it offers a bit of tape coloration (well it can be a lot if you push it) but nothing like satin it's not a swiss army knife for tape emulation/tape delay.
So you solved you serial number issue with magix ? And did you get the independance library ?

The AMUNITION compressor is pretty good for mastering/ busses stuff. The default compressor is good also for normal aplications.

The tape saturation is better with U-HE.

IMHO... Samplitudes native plugins do a good job. If you really need third party plugins, I would invest in the Overloud GEM series.
    Dopamine especially.

OTHER THING! please test it before buying it; most vsti load pretty high in comparison to ableton/ reaper for me, the learning curve in samplitude is different and also it's not so stable as PROX2 or SEQUOIA 13.

That's pretty sad because SAM has a lot of thing I love but it crashes more often than other daws I have tested before.

That's interesting. I've been using Samplitude for years (since SEK'd 2496) and it has only crashed maybe 3 or 4 times in all those years (and that was during startup). It hasn't crashed in so many years, I can hardly remember it ever crashing.

I also use Sequoia 13 and I don't think that one has ever crashed.

It seems so, but I will know for sure when installing it and then I will also check about Independance. MAGIX costumer service responded in ok time and they explained everything very well! Almost as good as Talmi

I do not agree, I use Samplitude Pro X3 every day, is very stable on windows 7, it crashed only once, when I tried to load some unknown samples into the sampler, now I know that I need to use samples with appropriate parameters, and everything works stably.

Unless you really understand tape and want detailed granular control of how the tape is going to respond and are not just after saturation but a closer approximation of the sound of tape, I would get Presswork. Not because the Analogue Modeling Suite Compressors are bad, but because they tend to all saturate in the same way with the same kind of tone and response. They sound wonderful, but different characters and flavors in compression can sometimes be very frustrating if you can't get what you want.

Presswork wouldn't necessarily be my first choice though, HOFA Intelligent Compressor + Compassion and the less expensive DMG Tack Comps are wonderful additions to Magix Analogue Modeling Suite. They offer a different palate and Compassion is so tweak-able but then again so complex that for the foreseeable future you should be covered for compression. The IQ-Comp has a nice feature where you can filter and accentuate different distortion levels across the Frequency spectrum so it is a lot more complex than it lets on. That tape tone may come and go, but a solid compressor will always be useful.
