It's a pitty that the vid is mono.

You did quite well, then.

I think your bass area could be warmer, rounder (?) and have more punch somewhere between ~ 80-120Hz. There's something about the distorted frequencies, too - not the distortion itself. And maybe the bass decay is a little bit too long or too loud (compression). In the vid the most bd-bass combinations seem to be more dry. You know what I mean?

 

thanks! i find my self agree with your points i think i have to work a bit more on the kick /bass that now sound little bit confused.. one bass i made from the decay of the kick, i will try to split the attack from the decay to process them separatly!

That's creative! Never had this idea myself.

Bass and bd are very important for this kind of music and it's not an easy task to handle that.
Furthermore I think it's about splitting up hard and soft attack, short and long decay and the distorted frequencies between bass and bd, so that they are not occupying the same positions.
