thanks to the windows only package of (Symlink )
i managed to make Nemesis of Tone2 run too on Mac.

basically in the nemesis folder of nemesis there is a backup file of the Tk2 file which I unrarred.
in little snitch i blocked all those tone2 domains with a rule
tone2.com
www.tone2.com
tone2.net
www.tone2.net

after I got one time the message illegal tk2 but the software couldn't delete it and since then its running now two hours perfectly registered


so thank you Symlink :D

I've had weird issues with electra that only shows up in VST ( I'm on mac too )

no big deal, it's not even in my top 5 synth, but weird.
I still use their warmFx which is -to say the least- not transparent, but good to use for gate and other FXs

 

I know someone who took the t2k file and dwnloaded demo from their site and it worked for mac...but not sure if it still works...lol

just download the update you can btw download the full version on the website. they trust in their protection i guessss

 

as long as you block your daw outbound and all tone2 domains, you will be fine with the tk2 within the symlink package

 

Downloaded the demo for mac, blocked with little snitch, but is shows as demo. How can i use the nemesis tk2 file to make it work?

Yes, it might been an update, but i gave nemesis to emu79 from sister site once I got it, and he used it..

 

Works great. Then I remembered how hideous Tone 2 makes my plugins folder look and deleted it.

 

Does this work with the other plugs?

 

If you don't want to use 'little snitch' but still prevent your system to reach these urls at anytime:

Open the terminal and type:
sudo nano /etc/hosts

Enter your admin password when requested.

Add two new hosts in the database:
127.0.0.1 www.tone2.com
127.0.0.1 www.tone2.net

CTRL+X to exit
Y to save

Done.

doesn't work for me. Once i put the .t2k files into Library/Audio/Plugins they get instantly deleted. If I put it in any other location and point to that place in the activating process it works but just for nemesys and just for the session. Every time i restart my DAW, nemesys wants to be activated again. And the .t2k files in the symlink package are old as shit. 2014 and older.

 

Funny how you guys think that Tone2 plugs are phoning home...they just look for updates. Nothing else.
Latest Tone2 plugins, once launched, are running a check routine for pirated files authorizers and they get deleted because blacklisted.

 

But you are aware of the things AIR discovered about Tone 2 Plugin Installers for Windows and what they do bring to the system is concerned?

Some warez users like to go legit, it's hard to see them going legit with your plugins when the experience you give them results in piss poor MALWARE techniques. FUCK YOU!

Markus has coded his plugins to look for other Tone2 and reFX registry entries, if blacklisted serials are found then his MALWARE is invoked. These include Firebird, FilterBank, Warmverb, Gladiator, Vanguard.

Markus has coded his plugins to look for other products keyfiles, if blacklisted keyfiles are found then his MALWARE is invoked. This includes FireBird, FilterBank, Warmverb, Gladiator.

Markus creates keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER

at least two NEW keys with no data (not disclosing to protect privacy). if you have been subjected to the MALWARE traps check your registry, the keys will be obvious as the names are crap, make no sense and they have no data under them

wvdriver.sys

gldriver.sys

gsndrun.sys
+ about 4 other random file names (not disclosing to protect privacy) If your going to look for these files make sure you have turned off 'Hide protected operating system files' in explorer. Typically they are dropped in the same location as the Gladiator2 dll.

Not really. The routine is embed inside the plugins.
When plugins call home, Little Snitch warn you about the call attempt.

Just to understand what I'm talking about:

Install latest Electra2 - Go off line - Run Electra and see what happens... (all your non legit file authorizer will be deleted)

That doesn't happens with Nemesis 1.5 immediately but will be a matter of time:it is time bombed and it will stop to work soon (and the files authorizer killed)
