The biggest obstacle in music production is thinking you're producing shit and others producing gold

@foster911, you need to start a movement, a school or something. Come up with a catchy name & write manifestos. I mean, if Situationists could do it...

Making music is the easiest task if you can find a formula for it. I have got that concoction and this thread is for causing hindrances to another parallel discoveries by others.

the human mind creates formulas for every single thing we do, whether talking a breath cutting and eating our food talking to people ,having a thought ,making love, or making music, our brain is a pattern making machine.

you use some kind of hihat cymbal some kind of kick drum some kind of snare drum that is a formula, you have sounds in low octave middle octave and higher octave that is formula, you have 4 beats per bar and 4 bars that is a formula.
you have the panning and volume of the tracks how loud they are a formula every aspects of what you make is a formula.
if you create some weird other worldly sound in a song its because you heard it before somewhere fairly similar.
i don't see anything wrong with these things that just the way it is,
to me the only thing that matters is creating a wonderful experience for the listeners and to have as many of them as possible.
for me it makes no sense to create music that nobody enjoys, it only makes sense to create music for the most amount of fans possible . ( too bad took me so long to understand this aspect haha)

the biggest question to ask yourself is.

who is this song going to be for?
is this song for me to listen to 5 times?
    or
is this song for millions of people to listen to hundreds of times a piece?

which ever choice you make means every aspect of making the song is different, how valuable the song is very different, the impact the song will have is very different.

For me music is like messing around with the listeners' spirit and mind and begetting psychic paralysis in them till the end of the music. No matter listening to it just once or 1E21 times. :bleh:

Think like sportsmen: when they are training there is a lot of auto-critic , but once they are really doing their thing, it's no more time for self feedback, just go on and do your thing the best you can and how you feel it. You can judge it later, but not while doing it.

Guys please don't like @jayxflash 's post . I don't agree with that. Selecting his post as the best answer was just a sarcasm (unchecked that).:bleh:
Maybe the way we're making music changes with the lapse of time but the way we're appreciating music and considering it as good or bad doesn't change alot even within years. The major intention of creating this thread was esteeming the way you just yourself interpret music and don't let other people manipulate your sense of admiration to the goodness or badness of any piece of art.:dunno:

Also the lack of taste superciliously by @jayxflash means different musical backgrounds in my lexicon.

At some point, we need to let the music speak for itself. I was watching all these obscure musicians and engineers at the Ableton Loop Conference in Berlin (2016) give long metaphysical disquisitions on music...and then when it was time to present their work...it was all grandiose doodles with no intention of being enjoyed or understood... That's what happens when THE MUSIC takes a backseat to the artist's philosophical musings and endless experimentation and doodling...

Just make some dope shit that I can feel!

    For fuck's sake!

And you felt ...nothing? Not even a little cheated?

This is the matchless answer for all the threads on the web. Music is other than words describing it, but sometimes filliping the spirits even with the loose talks is needed to gain self-assurance, audacity or temerity inside the art creator, you know words are more devastating than music.:dunno:

No. I mean it literally: lack of taste in music.

Let's say we are all wine makers here. I make a certain kind of wine, everybody else make or tries to make various kinds of wine. And then you, the whiskey maker, try to convince me and all the winemakers that you come from a different background. How about adding the word "logic" to your lexicon?

Another sign of snobbery. I had made up my mind to have a backpacking to Deutschland but now I'm shaking like a leaf and hardly daring to breathe.:bleh:

Understandable, is way easier to make someone a "snob" for not accepting any crap as "music". How many songs you'd managed to finish since Feb 25 2015?

Depends on the music. Things I can do with 4 notes, a sequencer & too many effects? Probably a war crime :\

Because I had to tackle that big problem and so sorry for addressing you like that. I just wanted to say that no one in the world has got any right to absolutely sit in judgement and universalizes his own view over everything and causes other artists to submit their will to the critic's authority.:dunno:
Man This is a masterpiece. I love your way of dealing with music. My threads are open for all of your opuses. Please upload more of yours. I really dug this. I was going to select this as the best answer but let's this thread be continued by your posts.:yes::yes:
