The biggest obstacle for my music production is:

Having doubt about my production and seeking perfectionism.

I didn't want to resurrect this dead thread but I thought maybe most people have the same problem like me. I named mine and, what's yours?

Lots of my threads originate from this bad psychological issue in my mind. When I was listening to other productions I was thinking that my production isn't music and what the mainstream kinds dictate are the real music but now I think this is the worst feeling has been induced in me and decided not to devalue my works just because some other people have the opposite view to mine.

    """

This thread is for people looking for some ways to formulate and categorize their acquired techniques and knowledge and swagger for this reason

Making music is like fixing errors. Some errors are predictable and avoidable in the first steps but most of them aren't so instead of hoarding techniques and skills, try to to finish your tracks with your acquired ones till that point, like me that have produced more than 100 albums in these years.

Just start a project and sketch something that a rough idea forms then complete it and never let people calling themselves master of art discourage you.:bleh:

Was just a sarcasm. If I was thinking like that I'd had made a complete album till now. :bleh:
I've behaved against my first post's message and put making a complete music off until confidence valve opens and let me feel combat readiness for doing that but I officially state that it's the most foolish decision I've made and it's all @MMJ2017 's fault and must rebut these claims.

I didn't want to be harsh to people full of experiences and can open lots of doors ahead us. This thread was just my way of keeping away all those negative and incapacitating factors usually getting arisen by seeking to attain perfectionism and paragon in human's standards before taking any action.:shalom:

There is a balance and a separation of concerns as well to consider.

Just as a big of a problem is .

The biggest obstacle in music production is thinking you're producing the shit and others producing shit

Or that more FX will fix everything. Takes a long time if ever one can just let go of preconceived notions and enjoy something for what it is, even it it is different it doesn't always need to be fixed... something are made to be different in the first place.[IMG]

I think your first thought was best.
why would you think your stuff is that bad if it wasn't?
what method would you use to specifically say how good it was or bad it was compared to a successful song?

if a song has millions of fans and is making millions of dollars, isn't that tell you something about the song?

do you want o make music for yourself and 3 friends, or do you want to make music for 8 billion people?

    my biggest question is ,

what methods are you following to where you get all the way to the end or close to the end of a song and then realize it horrible compared to so and so?

(why not follow a type of method where for instance every action you take starting form a blank screen is a good one? punch in a note because it is a good one, adjust the volume fader in a good way etc.)
how do you end up making so many bad decisions like thousands to end up where thousands of decisions where all wrong in the end when you compare to popular top 40 songs?

    serious foster911,
please explain very specifically to us.

what meets your criteria to be classified as "good" in your thought process?

what meets your criteria to be classified as "bad" in your thought process?

    Dear mate,

Doubt to some extend is a good thing, it will take you to a new level and make your good productions even better.

Let me tell you this and believe me: perfectionism is blasphemy!

Nothing anyone has ever done, is doing or will do is perfect.
It's maybe the best he/she could/can do and that's all we can hope to achieve.

Wikipedia: Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time...

... the mainstream, hence the name . Nothing more nothing less. And mainstream changes since the very beginning of mankind and will always do. New things are made by the creative ones who are not mainstream or rather refuse to be.

So what the hell are you talking about, my friend?? :mates:

My personal biggest obstacle? I'm a lazy bitch and have huge difficulties to work all on my own :(.

Once you light that fire and start with the track, don't stop for anything!
Focus all energy into the music being created. More and more we are conditioned towards keeping a watch on everything, which has that nasty side effect of losing intense focus on just one task. This can be exercised and perfected.

    I feel the same
but we don't need ourselves to blame
    evolve and work
stretch to the tops, to the sky
    as do deodars
    don't afraid to vie
    to reach the stars

I agree to the title. Skrillex is an example.
