    Hello all.

I used to have a superb sample pack for drum hits that I cannot remember the name of. The HD it was on died and the rest is history.

Trying to find a good solid sample pack for techno related drum hits, I'd love to hear some suggestions.

    wave alchemy revolution.

or, if you just want samples and not a fancy kotakt gui, there's this recently released pack - also by wave alchemy:

    drum tools 02

currently on sale for 50% off.

Yes, Wave Alchemy Revolution and Wave Alchemy Drum Tools (02), absolutely.
    Then everything Riemann.
The Whitenoise Records stuff is also good.
Then there is the Systematic Records Signature stuff.

Most of them are sampled from analog drum machines so there are a lot of redundancies.
The only drum sounds that are already layered and work "as is" are from the Riemann series. At least for me, that is.

Got myself drum tools 2....will definitely be checking the others...had a shed load of vengeance previously but never seemed to go to them, no idea why as they are extremely well crafted.

I'm not sure there's really one definitive pack I would go to, but there are a few companies that create fantastic sounding samples that you can blend for a more unique sound that you can call your own.

For example, Black Octopus Sound have made some fantastic drum libraries. What I love about them is that they like to keep the samples somewhat raw sounding which provides a lot of flexibility in sculpting your own sound by blending and processing the sounds to your liking. This is especially pertinent in their kicks which are mostly key labelled and have loads of punch and subby low end, perfect for re-shaping and processing how you'd like to fit any track.

'Leviathan' is an enormous library containing loads of drums, synths and other samples. There's something like 500 different kicks and snares alone, all of which are very usable:
    https://blackoctopus-sound.com/product/leviathan/

In your specified genre there's 'Techno Elements' from them. It includes music loops and other elements other than just drums but from the aesthetic of the demo I'd say most of the sounds in it will be useful to you:

There's also their 'Ultimate Drum Elements' collection, another pack containing a silly-huge quantity of samples.
    https://blackoctopus-sound.com/product/behemoth-ultimate-drums-elements/

Sample Magic also do some awesome drum samples, specifically this pack is great for techno:

'Raw Techno' is another good one with a more industrial, minimal and dirty sound as compared with the others:
    https://www.samplemagic.com/details/535/raw-techno

They've already been name-dropped, but Wave Alchemy's 'Drum Tools' packs are damn good. You'll find loads of useful samples in those!

Zero G also does a huge pack of drum samples, the one I've linked below also contains bass but if you search the site they have separate packs for each drum element if you don't want the bass too. What's great about these is that most of the samples are sorted by genre and have a huge range of kicks, snares, cymbals and percussion suited for techno and many many other styles you can mix and match:
    http://www.zero-g.co.uk/store/total-drum-bass-wav-acid-rex-p415.php

If you're looking for classic drum machine sounds, check out Goldbaby's drum libraries (http://www.goldbaby.co.nz/). They process them through analogue gear, tape and various other methods to give you a huge range of sounds from classic drum synths like 808, 909, 707 etc.

There's sooo many more I could link you to but that's probably more than enough to delve into haha!

Hope that helps anyway and good luck with your musical endeavours! :)

THere's no go to I think... there's so many different "sounds" of drums... all of which can work in techno... if YOU want them to. It's up to your current interest in drum sounds.

Vengeance can be fine... Goldbaby... Wave ALchemy (though I never end up using those... I don't know why either, they never ever catch my interest when I browse them... one day I will like em tho) and then of course the random sample companies that have peppered the sister site for probably 10 years plus... every year there's like 30 new companies you've never heard of... all using the same crap.

What are you're guys recommendations for straight up 808, 909, 707, 606, drumloops? I like to fuck around with them in Geist. Gives me good results cause I dont have to compress the drums, only EQ a little to taste. I want to have clean barebones loops, no vocals/chords/blips or anything. Just straight drum loops, Rex2 format would be nice.

    Cheers.

sample magic has nice stuff. loopmasters has a ton of packs but they all sound super basic ( the instruments used sounds pretty wack and dont have nothing exciting).....vengeance sucks. everyone uses it. but i guess its probably the easiest to get your hands of. if you go through their library you'll find tons of samples and loops used by "big" people; pretty lame and depressing.
