The single most insanely effective drum machine comes to iOS.

I've been messing with the desktop version for the last month or so but touch controls take this thing to a whole other level.



This thing might seem random but just start using it and it becomes clear that it's entirely determinative.

And it's only $5.99

 

What's so special about this? You feel like you don't have control but in fact you do?
I mean, I can blindly "tap in" a wild random pattern in quite any drum app and there are plenty of random rhythm generators too. What Axon generates seems to have a rather experimental quality. Also, the sound engine is simplistic at best, and the tiny UI controls must be a joke.

I guess I'll stick with DM2 and Elastic Drums, and hope for a really good acoustic drum modelling app on iOS soon, something like Reason's Kong or the Drum Synth in NI Maschine

DM2 and Elastic Drums are phenomenal but don’t forget Patterning.

 

Speaking of DM2, why is it made by someone else?
I dont see any Fingerlab branding or mentions.

 

AFAIK it's developed by the same guy, just not under the Fingerlab branding, kind of a "solo project".
