Hey all, I've never had any issue figuring out how to load libraries in unlocked Kontakt 5.6.8 but this new Cinematic Studio Strings has me baffled. After spending more hours than I'd like to admit I'm reaching out to see if anyone can help. Would love to try this out before spending the money to purchase.

I've obtained the library from the sister site and in addition downloaded the "fixed" .nicnt file. On Mac I replaced the original with the fixed .nicnt and "added library" via kontakt 5.6.6 standalone which seemed to accept, and then tried openeing in 5.6.8 however library doesn't appear in tab. 5.6.6 says "..already exists in the library tab". When trying to load via "files" tab in kontakt, "..new library needs to be added before it can be used" window appears. Please help! Experienced Audiosex'er submitting this question under new profile out of embarressment....

 

Remove it from 5.6.6 and start over from scratch. On mine 5.6.6 crashed as soon as I clicked add lib to it but then showed up in 5.6.8 anyway.

I have the same problem on Mac. Added it to the stand-alone Kontakt 5.6.6 as usual and it doesn't even appear in the 5.6.8 version
Hope a genius will find a workaround quickly Can't wait to try the Solo Strings
Already spent the whole night trying to make it work...

 

Sounds like what I had going on but grdh20's solution worked for me. Had to delete the .xml file and the pref files. Then re added. Pref files existed in both user and general libraries.

Have no idea for MAC, but on Windows:

- Add library with 5.6.6 (you will see error message)
- Open 5.6.8 and library is there

But IMHO this solo library is not so good, you can freely avoid it...
Library is commonly so quiet so it's very hard to bring instruments in front of an arrangement. Best result you will get only if you blend this library with some other library.
Spitfire solo or Berlin solo series are much better if we speak about solo strings.
At the other hand, Cinematic Studio Strings or Cinematic Strings 2 are great libraries.
At least, you will find out for yourself after installing...

Well, I tried so many time, over and over again from scratch but still not working. I'm cursed...

The 'fixed' nicnt still crashes 5.6.6. This release is problematic.
