Spot on! An average person with or without musical talent can buy a Mac and have more recording power with GBand than the Beatles ever dreamt of at Abbey Road in the 60s. Yet, today's music mostly STINKS. I can't even listen to the radio. It's sucks the life out of my creativity . . . it paralyses my muse.

Necessity is the mother of invention.
Yet we are so overpowered these days that nothing is really necessary. It all becomes supplemental.
    I'm guilty of this too.

Finally "scientific proof" that acting like Grampa Simpson when I hear current pop charts isn't just senility.

If you think "Pop Music" is terrible and didn't know that it was never meant to be as perfect as, say classical music, then you are ready to move on from Pop to better genres.

A lot of people even don't care to learn a Synthesizer or how things work in general, they just zap through presets and take the first matching which they like. There is nothing wrong in using entirely presets , but sometimes it might be a good idea to just learn the synth and tweak a sound as it sounds as you like instead of zapping through thousands of presets which takes even longer than creating it yourself :D

I have observed that it is quite hard to find musical sounding presets from several synth, most 'sound designers' seam to be more interested in producing less harmonic stuff to formulate it in a polite way.

No wonder that most preset driven music sounds like crap

this sort of ... SIMPLE conclusions by YOUTUBERS tend to explain it ALL.. always.. like POLITICIANS.. explain it all in a very simple WAY.. yes.. a lot of MUSIC is 100% garbage specially adele.. marron 5.. coldplay.. justin.. etc.. and on and on.. but it is NOT.. just about .. the transients.. and.. levels of the song.. is about the SONGS it selfs.. it doesn't matters if you use.. a drum machine.. or a real drum.. 300 violins plating the f.. note.. like in europing elite.. classical bullss..t.. like HANS ZIMMER:. it is all sh..t. it is about the songs. the conbinations.. with or without.. words.. with or without .. the quality of the recording and mixes.. the air.. that surrounds the live of the composer.. the intensity.. of the intension.. etc..
I personally HATE this simple explanations.. by youtubers.. that things they had figure it out all.

  13. Just goes to show, it's certainly not the tools that create art, it's the artist.

A 20 minute video for explaining such a simple question is definetely not needed. Just one word would have been enough:

The reason pop music "sucks" is because all you alleged experts are to busy throwing vitriol and critique at people who are already successful. Instead of hustling, grinding, networking, promoting and getting your "masterpieces" out to be put up to the same test of scrutiny, y'all display now.

'start listening to the “Hits” and “Now” compilation LPs from end to end. Of course, your conditioned brain will tell you it’s all a pile of shite and pale into insignificance compared to the Golden Era in Pop, when you were on the cusp of your adolescent years. Dig deeper into your heart and you will know that you are just lying to yourself. All eras in pop music are golden ages, or will be looked upon as such by the only generation that matters at any given time. Not only are all ages in chart pop equal, chart pop never changes, it only appears to change on its surface level.'
