    Hey Audiosexofiles,

So about 6 months ago I decided to sell one of my iMac computers. Listed it on craigslist and got called right away.

The guy comes over to my house with his wife and saw my glorious (not really) studio. Paid cash, took the comp home. ALL GOOD. right?

About 2 weeks later, I am coming home from the grocery store on Sat night and walk in my studio only to see everything missing.

    2x 27 inch i7 iMac's
47 inch plasma tv ripped off the wall
    2x Apc40's
audio interfaces, midi keyboards, my guitar.... and most importantly.......................

MY GOD DAMN MOTHER FUCKING HARD DRIVES!!!

Seriously though. The gear was a huge loss and I am pretty much over it by now, but the one thing that still fucks with me to this day is losing my hard drives.

They had absolutely everything on them. My life, my music, my info... everything. I think you guys get the point.

Well anyways its been a long process getting all of the files and programs I had before back on my new computer, and despite never being able to get my pictures back again... I still can replace my music :)

    sooooooooooooooooooooooooo

What it all comes down to now after this long ass ramble is that I was just wondering if you guys have any really great places that I can get loads and loads of music quick and with ease. I have been using demonoid.me to download torrents of big packs of music, but I was just wondering if there was something better out there to use these days? Limewire or something?

Anyways, I basically just want to know what you guys use to get your tunes and if you have any suggestions for me I would be very grateful!! :)

    Thanks pimps!

Subscribe to rhapsody, download a ton of music and run it through a DRM removal program, I use Soundtaxi but there are probably better ones. It's not the best quality audio, good but not great, so depending on what you want to do with it this may or may not be a great option, but for just everyday listening @ $9 a month it's hard to beat. And you can cancel when you have your collection pretty much back how it was and then get the odds and ends however you normally do.

Oh btw, my condolences on your loss. I can relate somewhat having lost everything before, but getting it stolen? Wow... although if you count my ex-wife, I guess I can relate to that too lol

shit that's bad, hope the fuckers get caught....
I dont know where you live but you may post on various musicians boards and ask people to keep an eye on stuff sold either on the boards they frequent or in pawnshops...sometimes you may get a few things back that way....

otherwise what kind of music are we talking about here? jazz? rock? metal? techno? DnB?

anyway Russia is the place to go for that...dunno if you know these sites but there are quite a few things in there...they are very general however

    Thanks monkey!

I am about to download Limewire Pro and give that a shot.

I am really looking for a great torrent website that I can find alot of electronic music on.

I like to spin many different styles of electro, and hip hop too, but dont really know of any places to get the latest tracks except for a few music blogs I frequent...

Also I buy alot of shit on itunes and Beatport... but lost most of what I already paid for :(

    OMFG! that is unspeakable......... :wow:

you shouldn't just give up! you must report to police, you must search, you must do something!
this kind of shit happens all the time and police should be able to deal with it!
you can't just give your life away like that :(

    Holy crap :wow:

Did you make a visit to the guy?? Or ask the police to do it?

I guess now, 6 months later, it is too late :(

It seems like the people are right who are advising to hold backups of everything important also outside the house.

God I fucking love you guys!

Thank you all for all of the amazing suggestions and kind support... I SERIOUSLY appreciate it more than you know :mates:

@Saint, Gulliver, & Duu - I am almost 100% sure that it was the guy who came to my house to buy the iMac 2 weeks prior. Nobody just breaks into a random apt if they don't know what they are going to find inside. I have been told numerous times that it was by someone who KNEW what I had in my place.. and I would definately agree with that assumption.

The police came to my house and took down the serials from the boxes I still had, but honestly... I really don't think they give a fuck. I was never called back or anything. Her only suggestions were to constantly check craigslist and pawn shops, which is honestly like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

    HOWEVER.

The guy that bought my comp called me before and I had his number in my phone. I gave it to the police in hopes that they would do SOMETHING with it... but yeah... nothing. :(

Whatever, talking about this shit gets me all fired up again, and I am really just trying to move on with my life and not let the past affect me today. Its really useless letting shit that I cant change get to me, ya know?

Anyways, off to download until my brain explodes!

About iTunes. Now there is a cloud. I think you can download all your music again.
full service will start at september.
When you buy music or apps you can download it to any of your devices.
All music and apps are stored on cloud servers and save. So you can download/restore what you need everytime.
