your ram and asus drive are german coloured ;)

nice one, but the noctua u12 fan doesnt allow you to use a common 19" case, thats why i have chosen nh-c12 (horizontal instead of vertical), but maybe you wont do that :)

i bet you will have a lot of fun with :)

it should do the job. if you want, you could also add OCZ Vertex 4 SSD Drive to run your system on it.

I have Western Digital Caviar Black 1000GB too *yes*

ok. I guess i've chosen well this time. Thanks for the replies. I was thinking about buying an ssd drive but i desided to wait till they get cheaper. 500Euro/500gigs sounds not okay for me.

Cool, so I can ask you the following: is it true that the caviar black 1000gb gets very loud? and is it reliable?? Cause thats the things some people criticize about it. Actually the speed made me to go for it.

i thought the graphics card would take away the graphic processing work from my cpu??! isnt that right???

i think you should of saved a bit more cash and went with the i5 and overclocked,as you need to disable hyper thredding for daws any way so you end up getting the same performance as the i5

Running a daw is hardly graphically intensive, and it's not like your cpu is going to be running flat out all the time (if much at all). Can't give you a % but I doubt you would see much gain at all. It's up to you at the end of the day if you want to pay that extra, not worth it imo.

Hey joem. What exactly is the reason for disabling hyper threading? What are the limitations of keeping this enabled? I have an i5 with hyper threading enabled and have experienced no problems whatsoever. I'm always down to make my machine more efficient for production, however.

daws are still read as single threaded applications hyperthredding is only good if your saying running multiple things at onece ie the internet and your daw and other things on top of that. if your just useing your daw then it dosent read your the virtual threads at all so it still triggers your cpu as a quad core. So thats why with the 15 and the 17 now being the same speeds then the only thing extra you pay for is the hyper thredding which isnt needed if you running just your daw.
