Yeah, it sounds great. Though I don't really use the AMX, QRS and 2016 modules - but that's not the fault of the software.

Been using Waves H-Reverb a lot lately. Quite like it. Also like the Eventide UltraReverb for more gritty reverbs, and the Plug & Mix reverbs - they are very basic and simple, but sound amazing.

Yes, that's a good one. I've looked at that, Tokyo Dawn Labs Proximity and Parallax VirtualSoundStage when I was initially trying to create depth in my mixes.

I guess what turned me off on those plugins was the lack of ability to choose the exact space I was looking for. Using for example Altiverb, one can use their many different spaces as well as load an impulse of a space of my choosing.

Those tools did help a great deal with teaching myself how to eq properly to achieve that sense of space, especially Proximity with it's dead simple near/far slider.

Valhalla stuff is ok for cheapies, but sounds seriously poor over a whole mix as a goto. I wouldn't let that build up or use it as a workhorse. It's nowhere near as good as the top stuff. Valhalla stuff I use more for obvious 'effect', esp shimmer and stuff like that but even VVV is better if you want obvious verb on some instrument, I wouldn't let it near my vocals or main mix sends! The quality just isn't there vs the best stuff.

    Me?

Relab LX480 - gorgeous and very versatile.
    Fabfilter Pro-R - Amazing Verb

those 2 are 2 of the best. Lexicon PCM native would be my 3rd choice (if didn't use Relab).

There are other decent verbs out there (exponential and others) but they have seriously crap GUIS I can't stand to work with and they do not sound as good as Relab.

Obtain as many as you can. Try them with different instruments and on different busses. You will find what suits you best and you won't have to ask pointless questions. Experience is not the same as having someone tell you something, that may be their opinion, but not yours.

Slate digital verb suite classics - great for really high quality reverbs to use on busses and sparse arrangements

Valhalla reverbs - Super easy to dial in a verb thats good enough for single instruments and stuff and just get something going quick

SSL X-Verb - Just really like it for long tail stuff on guitars and synth pads and such.. but horrible for drums and other transient stuff

Focusirte VSS3 - Can do many types of rooms/halls/everything and though its not as hifi as slates convultions it has more options and sometimes the little extra grit in the tails can make it stand out more in a mix. So love its versertility and sound.

PSP springbox - It does spring.. and sometimes you need spring.

Thats pretty much all the reverbs i ever use.

I'd love to try the Audioease Altiverb plugin but I would need to use the 6.12 version.
Anyone know where I can find this ?
There used to be one released by Team Air but it seems to have dissappeared:

Audioease Altiverb 6.12 VST RTAS [Air Release]

If the best you could come up with is Waves TrueVerb then you don't even know what a true reverb sounds like. Have you compared your work with other pro work, for instance? I don't mean that TrueVerb is really bad, but it's not anything remarkable, too, really. Even some freeware reverbs these days sound better. However, "better" is always subjective, indeed. I'm generally always interested in how it sounds in the mix, or finished work. Many reverbs can sound nice on one source.

Yes. It makes me think of Lexicon PCM, TC M40, Relab and Valhalla reverbs.

    Hello,

I have tried, and tried again, many, many reverbs and I keep coming back to 112dB's Redline reverb. It is both pricey and dated, but for me and acoustic guitars it is the most preferable and the most musical. Second choice would be Valhalla VintageVerb or ValhallaRoom Verb.

I do love the preset management of 2C Audio's Breeze.

    Hope this helps.

If you use orchestral samples, you will enjoy the video below.

On my side, I really like convolution reverbs, because they can mimic everything: Analog, algorithmic and natural space.
Altiverb is the king for that.

I really like 7th Heaven from Liquidsonics as well. Give it a try.

For specific needs (spring and plate mostly), I use UAD stuff.

Delay can be my goto as well: Soundtoys Echoboy or McDsp EC-300

Can't say I ever got the Altiverb hype. Their spaces give that kind of annoying phasey sound to the source - maybe realistic, but not pleasant or musical. Any impulse loader can do the same.
