I know Spotify stream music in 320kbps...
How can I record the streaming on mac? Any programs you recommend?
But are there any software to get the mp3 file without listening the song? It would be amazing

Most streaming audio is, at best MP3@128 - is that not true for Spotify?

One can, alternately, purchase music "for personal use," but forget that - musicians are supposed to be broke.

Are you sure Spotify actually streams at 320kbps? Here they say 320kbps is for premium users...:dunno:

    No mp3´s on Spotify...

"Streams are in the Ogg Vorbis media format at 96 kbit/s for "Normal" quality on mobile, 160 kbit/s for "High" quality on mobile and standard quality on desktop computers and the web player, and 320 kbit/s for "Extreme" quality on mobile and high quality on desktop computers, and is only available for Premium subscribers.[99] "Extreme" quality is not available in Spotify's web player."

It records an uncompressed audio stream (just as any other audio grabbing software) and then compresses it again e.g. to MP3 (or leaves uncompressed, as WAV's). There is no OGG format on the list of available options in Sidify, so obviously it does NOT save original data, as streamed by Spotify. So nothing revolutionary here, just marketing hype (and lies).

I do it in old way, and just record it with audacity, either virtual cable(if possible) or just analog? Analog is the surest one, and if you like the song you´ll be listening to it anyway ;)

Yeah but the result seems pretty good and more or less no difference from original MP3...isn't it?

AFAIK Spotify streams at 160kbps. But then Sidify must catch that and "re-mp3" it to 320kbps, which means shit^2.

But have you ever tried to analyze with SPEK? It looks like 320 spectrum with no cut before 20khz...

Nice suggestion but I already use Vk, really cool. The problem of vk is for original mixes track from big artists (not hardwell or garrix, I mean big pop stars like Beyoncé or chain smokers...) to find original ripped song from cd or MP3 320 file could be really difficult...I've found only remixes...any suggestions?

If you want to store music locally, why are you using Spotify in the first place?

There are other places to get high quality mp3's in less cumbersome ways.
