Hi, I'm looking for a plugin that can do the same, ozone loads my CPU a lot, even if I only use it once in the busmaster.

 

I wish fabfilter would create an equivalent. I know the feeling tho and I'm interested in what people suggest as well. I have used credland audio stereo savage for some tracks. I think Nugen Audio has a good stereoizer but I haven't tried it. I would think there would be many of them in the waves plugins too

This tool enhances existing stereo iirc, but the non-pro version will add stereo to mono (but not very well_

iZotope Imager is basically just a 4-band M/S mixer.

If you are on PC you can use the free RS-MET Crossover and any stereo widener/narrower (AKA stereo enhancer, stereoizer, etc) effect.

...it also have a mono to stereo convertor. I don't know the insides, maybe is haas, maybe comb filters, maybe both, but is mono compatible and does a pretty good job for anything you throw at it.

Very cpu efficient.

 

It seems to be a gentle stereo chorus only affecting the sides. You can hear the time/pitch-shifting when modulating it, while listening to the sides only (after Imager).

 

It's just a (multi) metering plugin though. Very nice nonetheless.

 

Nugen Stereoizer and Monofilter are leagues ahead of the competition.

 

I often use A.O.M Factory Stereo Imager for widening. It is simple and sounds good to me.
