So i decided to buy me a gaming computer with the following stats that ive decided to use for music as well:

    Windows 10 64bit
Intel Core i7-7700 Kaby Lake Quad-Core 3.6 GH
8 Gb DDR4 Ram (Upgrading that to 16 or 32gb in near future)
    250GB SSD and 1TB Harddrive
    Nvidia GTX 1070 OC
    Gigabyte H270-HD3 motherboard

    Mac Setup:
    Mbp mid 2014
    2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7
    16Gb 1600 Mhz DDR3 Ram
    256gb SSD

but im running into a problem, im having problems with latency which i dont understand why.
Keep in my i use a Focusrite Scarlett18i20 Audio Interface and have tried several different daws with the same problem..

    Ableton Mac:
    Core Audio
Buffer Size: 256 Samples Output Latency: 7.87 ms
Buffer Size: 512 Samples Output Latency: 13.7 ms

    Ableton Windows:
    ASIO
    Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver
Buffer Size: Locked at 512 Samples: Output Latency 35.7 ms

Now im pretty much a Windows Newb atm, been using mac for the last couple of years so go easy on me if the problem is simple to solve :)

I have the same problem with this sound card i solved that by going back to win 7 64. There are problems with the drivers on win 10 and Scarlett mix control app

If you don't want to roll back to 7: try ASIO4ALL. Might work until Focusrite releases better/fixed drivers.

    - Network/WiFi adapters
    - Card readers
    - Other sound devices that aren't in use
    - Bluetooth adapters

Any of theese? If yes disable it and see if the latency is gone. Oh and disable the system sound device too. In the device manager.
If that dosent help, You ll have to wait for a driver update.

are you saing that you cant set your buffer size to lower that 512 samples before you get pops and clicks from the audio?
if so then you need to investigate dcplatency use latencmon and do as TW as said disable on board sound on the mother board in bios,
    Network/WiFi adapters and Bluetooth adapters.
if you need network then you will have to go through the process of trying the diffrent versions of driver untill you find the one witch causes the lowest dcplatency in latencymon

also when you install your drivers for your nvidia gpu only install the graphics driver and the physx system software as iv found that there audio driver for the hdmi can cause latency problems.
