I'm thinking about buying a Kemper profiling amp. I know the main part of the sound has to do with which profiles you use with it.

How is the depth of the sound of the profiles on the Kemper? A few of the profiles I have heard have it. I own a Two Note studio and the sound tends to be rather flat. Not the front to back depth I hear when I'm micing up cabinets.

Any one using the SPDIF in and out for reamping. Send a direct clean track via SPDIF to Kemper back to protools? Any problems doing it that way?

Anything else I should be know about it and what are some good profiles?

For the comparison with the two note, i cannot say, but depending on the profile, you can get really quickly a great full tone.

For the SPDIF, i use it configured as this :
    - input left : DI
    - input right : master mono

So, during my tracking, i record an amped track, and the DI for future reamping

During the reamping, i send the DI through SPDIF, and i record, either in mono or stereo the reamp result

Thanks Chris, that's exactly what I needed to know. I have been pretty amazed at how good they sound. I'm looking to use it to track guitars and bass on some sessions.

Yeah, it works perfectly the way you mentioned. One thing though: remember to adjust latency of the KPA afterwards for true phase alignement. It´s around 11ms.

latency of the kemper is around 2.5ms, or around 6.5 if the "constant latency" is enabled
