Liu85 I think we are going in circles here without any progress. The solution lays in your hands. You said that Kontakt WAS working for a year and recently the problem started. I did ask you WHAT CHANGES DID YOU MAkE TO YOUR SYSTEM? WHAT NEW SOFTWARE OR DRIVERS DID YOU INSTALL? Did you do what twoheart suggested? OPEN KONTAKT WITHOUT ANY LIBRARY ADDED. The only thing we know is that it has NOTHING to do with your DAWs.

Is Kontakt opening as a stand alone or do you have the same problems?

 

Ok maybe it's solved. I opened an entire song for the first time after to have installed again Flstudio...and it started to work again!
Tony I had the same problem also as stand alone.Nothing was changed in the last days, I had a new antivirus 2 months ago, so I think is not the problem. I had opened it without anything (library) before now but nothing. Now it's a miracle , I really dont know what is happened. I hope it will keep on working now.

That is great news! Now that it is working clone that harddrive. Just in case and everytime you get ready to install a new software do a system restore. If you dont do what I just told you you will regret it in the future if something goes wrong.

 

tony may i ask what cloning software do you use man?

I bet you had a CD/DVD loaded. Or you last left Kontakt - and it defaulted - to scan the user database rather than the library (with pics and all that). It takes an age in either circumstance i.m.e.

 

It was an illusion, today the problem started again. Yesterday I have cloned my hd and my operative system but I dont wanna restore it every day, it has no sense.
Rotong It was not off, I have tried to select off but nothing it's changed. What value should I select?
G string maybe my engish is not good enought but I haven't understood
I have tried to bring back my OS to yesterday, but nothing, it doesn't work.

You should use (see above picture) OFF is u use the VSTi version. After that u must restart Kontakt.

 

As an alternative: Macrium reflect 6 Free. it has all features we'll need, for instace scheduled backups.
Best is, it's free.
I use it on all of our PCs, Laptops and Tablets. For my wife and my children I defined a scheduled backup so that a clone is done every 3rd day automatically in background. No hassle anymore.

Two ways Kontakt will be real slow:

1) if you have a CD/DVD loaded -- Kontakt spins up the drives and reads the directory when you open the plugin interface. Bloody annoying. Solution: remove CD from drive, all good.

2) if you exit Kontakt when the Kontakt browser is open (ie when you have used the browser on the left to find some libraries that do not show in the fancy list (the one with pictures - for registered libraries that need "add library" to work). Solution, return to the Library view before exiting Kontakt. Remove Kontakt instance. Re-add Kontakt.

Your problem sounds more severe. But who knows....

 

There are alternatives to Kontakt but you are not going to be able to use the Kontakt libraries

1) I had a music concert in my dvd reader, without it.....it works. I hope it will keep on working, but I dont understand, I had this dvd other times without any problem.

Do you know an alternative to kontakt? I know "forzando" but it doesn't read kontakt files.

 

Liu I have one last thing to say to you or to better put it to repeat for the 4th or 5th time. Do a complete uninstall of Kontakt. Make sure you get rid off all registry entries for Kontakt and its libraries and also include the xml files from the Servicee Center. There is an abundance of advice on this site detailing how to remove Kontakt. Once you have removed Kontakt DONT REINSTALL THE SAME VERSION YOU CURRENTLY USE. Upgrade to at least 5.6.6. ...and if it does not work go to Home Depot buy a hammer and beat the shit out of your computer. That will permanently fix your problem with it.

PS Why Windows 10 instead of Windows 7? Just a thought.

"Almost everything" is not everything liu. We try to help you BUT if you dont follow our instructions and then let us know about the results it is impossible to attempt to troubleshoot your problem. What is it that you have not done of the things we suggested? Did you install the new version of Kontakt as I told you to do? Are you getting the same problems with the stand alone version?
