Milky, how to reply on asking yourself if you like it ?

I suppose Softube is hard to beat at this point
or is anyone blown off the chair in comparison ?

 

Its kinda subjective... Some might even like a free tape emulation version than the softube or Uad ones.
Different hardwares, different methods, different calibration and different character. It is just a personal taste, nothing is better or worst than the other.

 

Hard to beat = price/quality at the point of new commercial releases on equal categories

 

It's all about the GUI.... At least that's what rappers will probably think.

 

I told you: R2R Tapes are the new 1176s of analog modeling ;)

The effect this plugin has on Drums sounds more like parallel compression than tape saturation to me. But in the end it is just a question of taste.

I am sticking with softube tape for now. Beatskills Products have yet to impress me, tbh.
