So what was the best concert you've ever been to? (or Rave/Party?)


Hi all, with all these music lovers at our forum, there has to be some great stories out there about your favorite concert-

I have a few- it's hard to nail the best- because sometimes bands techically sound better than others, but if you were having a great time, who cares?


So here is a sampling of my favorite experiences:




1. Tool - 1996 Denver Co

Maynard was all covered entirely with blue paint that glowed in the black lights around the stage, and they had giant 50 foot lava lamps! plus, i was on 3 hits of great acid and even though our car was towed when we got outside after the concert, we had a great time walking along Colfax back home to our casa in the ghetto in 5 points



2. Burning Spear - Omaha Ne 2009

A living legend! I actually went to this concert with my parents! His dub album "Garvey's Ghost" changed my life, so this was big for me! and in OMAHA, NE!!!!! lol


3. Gwar - 1992 Omaha Ne

- my first Gwar Concert!!! anyone who has been to a gwar shows they are the most insane spectacle in all of music, so if you DON'T know who Gwar is, you better toutube that sh*t now- at the end of the concert i was totally covered in "blood" and jizz shot from a 30-foot dinosaur what was high on crack. Oh yeah, and penguins. lots of penguins. plus, i got to get laid for like the second time (i was only 15 then!)



4. AfroMan - 2006 Atlanta, Ga

Lol great show, funny/scary club ( i was the only white guy ) and AfroMan's eyes were so red it was hilarious!! Everyone was passing blunts and joints and pipes it was crazy that noone cared heh heh..and one of AfroMan's "Hot" stage dancers was a really ugly fat white chick with mashed potato legs in a tiny shiny spandex leotard lol

after the concert we were so high we realized we were the only ones left itn eh club , and afroman was real cool to us and hung out with us at the bar for a bit and got high with us and said thanks for staying the whole time, so that was cool!


5. Colonel Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade with String Cheese Incident with Phil and Friends - Red Rocks, Co 2002

Ah yes, the dead crowd at red rocks..Actually ANY concert at Red Rocks is amazing! The parking lots are full of ex-dead following people so everyone is nice and you can score whatever you want.. (for medicinal purposes only, of course)

My friends and i were hiking int eh hills behind the concert on acid, and one of my friends dogs got sprayed by a skunk!!! Luckily, it started raining and showered off the dog for us, and then of course, a double rainbow appeared just for the dead crowd, they love those double rainbows!


6. Galaxy #3 Rave Denver, Co 1996

I've had fun at lots of raves, (back when they were still raves, in abandoned warehouses, kids overdosing lol) but this particular one i had candy-flipped WITH a qualude, so i was ultra cool that night heh heh everyone was so cool to me, i had fun dancing to great music, and i got up on these giant speakers and watched the whole crowd, and then poof it was 6 am.. then i went home with some random girls i met and had fun for days afterwards from that great night




7. Aphex Twin/Squarepusher Denver, Co 1996

Aphex Twin, playing with Squarepusher. nuff said.
