I have always knew that all plugins made by Tone2 is dangerous because it is stronger than watermarking.
It simply fires Homecalling everyday. It calls home by using the homecalling feature. It uses not only firefox to access internet. It tracks to where you live and then you get arrested and prisoned?

I am going to use this Tone2 stuff when i learn that homecalling reports does nothing. Then i will feel safe with it like Omnisphere for example where nothing happens because it lacks homecalling or housetracking. :dancing:

 

Fear for prison ?

Unplug ethernet & disable wifi, you're done !

Not if you wrap your laptop up in tin foil, and wear a tin foil hat for extra protection, you would be surprised what tone2 are capable of *yes*

 

My DAW should never have access to internet. I only allow internet access for firefox. The vst plugins should not be able to send information to the internet cable. A firewall implemented into the DAW?

 

Firewall is the answer but my first was better :D


Its not the daw you need to block though (only if your scared of prison)

 

Don't you have internet access as an inmate in prison, jus' saying,LOL. Really just install on a machine you don't surf the net and it can E.T phone home all it wants. It will get a busy signal all the time. Plus after this debacle over on KVR i just said forget it and used better plugins that don't use propaganda tactics to stir up B.S.

 

Prison nowadays is like an hotel . they have internet, a gym, big yards to play, good food and education if you want !
Then why the fear of prison ?!

 

That's what I'm trying to tell him. You go there and get swollen up like Timberland, read some good books and 12 months later you back like every other producer timeframe. Then remember the drama from using Tone2 and ditch that bad idea and just use Omnisphere that you had anyway and come stronger. Chuuuuch. Tabernacle and choir sing. LOL.

 

Just use Omnisphere and Trillian, and that will trump anything Tone2 has done. Really.

 

Gladiator is good but Sylenth will do it too. All the other plugins have been done recently that will ace any updates they have done, my 2 cents. Don't worry just hit other options and make some good music and be done with Tone2 altogether.

See what I'm saying just use it on a PC not connected and you can run with it. Still there is others that give the par results, if not better that don't go to the extremes.

 

So the plugin checks internet connection at every startup to compare the serial number to it's server to see if it's invalid register. Then it will deactivates/disables the plugin into demo mode?

 

Prolly how they do it. They make a check to see if your PC ID number is in their database and then if that serial don't match...BOOM. Again just ask and you will find other VST's that have better results. Are you attached to Tone2 for a certain reason? There are others that do the same if not better to me, my opinion.

 

Just don't use it. Options are there. Are you a fanboy, or is this Mark? If so, then just make the plugins better and skip the protection schemes, because these dudes gonna do what they gotta. NO TONE2 plugs. I don't use them.

WTF ??? When you install Tone2 plugins (before install) yust make separated folders for all Tone2 plugins (make folder SAURUS_, GLADIATOR_) and then instal plugin to that folders ! Trust me i use all Tone2 plugins without problems and i use that same PC for all my net stuff.
