    Playroom for big kids :D

They should make playgrounds like this, where wives can leave their man when they go shopping

My humble little set up. Outside of a new audio interface and some sound proofing, this is pretty much where I eat, sleep and jerk off.

It looks like the EWI 5000 that I have.
Very nice to have a wireless wind controller - then you can play with your eyes closed and feel the music as you move around.

I'll share my current situation as things change depending on what mode I'm in.. right now the focus is basically making beats, remixing, and broadcasting for the internet radio shows. the star and main backbone for me is always vinyl.. and I always have some near by for sampling needs.

    The basics:

    Audio-Technica LP120 Direct Drive/USB turntable
    M-Audio Oxygen 8v2
Presonus Eris 4.5 (they get the job done for what I need them for)
    Maschine MK1
    Lots of Vinyl Records
Behringer X1204 FX Mixer with audio Interface
Behringer FBQ 1502HD (a nice feature on this EQ is the crossover for SUB)
dBP80 dB Display & Power Supply
    Behringer 802 Mixer
    Pioneer DDJ SB-2
Numark Mixdeck Quad (4 Channel Mixer, works with CD, USB thumb drive, iOS compatible and Serato DJ)
Numark DJ-2-GO (I use this for drops, commercials, and promos for the radio shows)
Acer Aspire One Netbook (dedicated for running RadioDJ automation software for radio stations)
    Toshiba Laptop (dedicated internet machine)
Dell Laptop (dedicated music & production)

That's the basics.. there is some other older and misc. gear in the back like a double cassette deck, numark cdn-25, amps and other stuff either used for the radio shows or just not used anymore. For me all I need really is vinyl and a way to manipulate it and I'm good to go!

As far as software.. the basics

Protools (mostly used for editing and chopping samples with tab to transient works like magic for what I do)
SoundForge (I still use this for recording vinyl)
Reaper (definitely my goto DAW for mixing)
Albeton Live (really just getting into it but with the groove pools and MPC swing as well as slice to midi track.. it's going to be my main tool for certain thing especially using warp markers on those crazy samples.. the ideas just seem endless with ableton)

What kind of desk is that? I need that one in my life. Also, how big is that display. I have 2x24in now and wonder if I can cram them in that space angled a bit.

Ikea gift from my wife, had to look it up but it was a:

    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50219044/

Definitely lends itself well to most computer/musician needs. Its very modular in its design, those monitor stands can be adjusted to extend in or out of the framework. That display is 27" Asus monitor but you can easily fit a 32' inch no problem. If youre not using a laptop, it fits a full 61 key keyboard on it as well.

Thanks! That was the other thing I wondering about is the side shelf vertical clearance. My monitors have 8in cones in them. But if they can be attached to the sides like on the product page, its perfect. And my axiom is 61 keys as well. That is the perfect desk for my setup.

Hello ladies and people, from the cockpit this is captain McAileron.

Can guitars qualify as part of one's setup? Yes, and the amps are core equipment, all the rest is ancillary for me. Of course being able to preserve what you do is nice. I can and will record with anything that has a cord coming from it.

I have two Pro Tools PCs, two (+ one spare) ADATs, two (+ one spare) Digi 002's, one (+ one spare) Yamaha 02R, a Yamaha 01V and a 1969 Philips 8-channel "radio" mixer all working very compatibly together at +4dB line level or under ADAT protocol, able to deliver in any digital or audio format, depending on mood or the requirements of the project. With Pro Tools I use Waves (Freeload Edition) plugins as well as hardware compressors/limiters on the outboard inserts. I'm beginning to find my way around in Pro Tools quite well, but it took a while to get used to PC's instead of the TEAC and Studer/Revox reel-to-reel machines I started out with, ages ago. ADATs were my stepping stones towards the stuff this here & sis site are all about.

Rather old school, I sing (quite well thank you), play guitar (great thank you) and sometimes I try my hand at playing a little piano. Well... maybe it's not that little... it weighs a ton. My microphones are two vintage Neumann U47's plus one U47fet (unbeatably wonderful for vocals but also for loud stuff like drums) as well as more delicate Neumann KM86i's (ideal for acoustic guitars as well as pianos) and a handful of Shure SM57's, which I will use for just about anything. Like sometimes we do vocals with a handheld Shure, never mind the tube mics. It's nice to record singing through a suitably undersized living room PA for reinforcement, when the track requires it.

Yep. They are all you need to connect anything and everything, or what I use anyway, with twin ADAT ports on the 02Rs and one on the 01V. The Yamaha mic preamps are super stable and once in a while I use an UA610 as fattener.

I use Sonar (Bandlab version) and MPC 2.0 as my DAWs. I use MPC Live and a Studiologic Sledge synth as midi controllers for VSTs. I record audio into the MPC, so it doubles as my interface. I use a Schecter guitar and a POD HD500x. Since the POD has a mic input and the MPC doesn't, I record any mic'd stuff thru the POD. Including vocals, and since I don't like my voice these usually require some creative processing anyway, so I am not overly anal about their quality.
