LoL, funny is listening to farang/"phalong" try to pronounce Pattaya. They always get the accent wrong. Its on the last YA not on the TA. And dont even get me started on Chiang Rai/Lai and Chiang Mai, get that one mixed up and its a really expensive taxi ride. LoL Thai have no R's in our phonetics. So they sound like Ls or rolling Ds. I dont speak it fluently unfortunatley, but enough not to sound like a farang. I have a lot a family in thailand. In Chiang Mai Im treated like royalty. Like a HUGE exclusive reception party just because who Im related to. Mayors and all. Its would be effing awesome to meet you there @Herr Durr I can show you the country like only the locals know.

I was frying back from Thairand one time.. and sitting next to an old US Army Vet who had been at
Iwo Jima when the Marines put the flag up after the island had been captured...

He told me he enjoyed his trip to Thailand , especially going up North to "Chow mein"

gotta love the Thais too when they offer you .. "Flied lice"

I become a fresh seafood junkie when Im there. Love how almost every restaurant (by the ocean) has a fish tank where you just point to your meal. Beef? No, thats for pulling the plows, how about some pork? Nah, Ill take the fresh prawn then. Flounder/Sole curry? coming right up.

Man, now Im hungry. The thai have a special dish usually only reserverd for grandmas. Its a curry but we take the fish and tempura fry it before we toss it in a curry. It is the BEST! But you would never know about it because its never on any menu. The translation is "grandma style" usually a red or panang curry depending on how sweet you like it. And next time you're there def try their version of ox tail soup. I fiend for that stuff. My moms is only so so, only because of the local herbs and spices available.

No...... you look at the hands (first giveaway), build of the shoulders (wider or narrower than her hips) and for an adams apple. Then you ask. But always be classy and a gentleman about it. Its a normal and accepted lifestyle in most other countries. Im looking for a good thai wifey everytime I go there honestly. My family parades them in front of me hoping Ill choose one. Feels too arranged for me though. Theyre usually just looking for US citizenship and have an ulterior motive. They're always trying too hard to get me to fall for them.

Life is short any way, everyone has his own motives, you have to understand that they have far less opportunities than us westerners.

I've been married several times. Finally got smart and married a Southern girl. Now everything is peaches and cream. As long as I'm not late to supper!
