Surgical dynamic equalizer with 6 floating, fully-adjustable parametric filter bands, advanced EQ and compression/expansion controls per band, mid-side processing options and more.

The ultimate problem-solving EQ, F6 can be used for diverse equalization, compression, expansion and de-essing processes, whether you’re mixing or mastering, in the studio or live. Each of the six floating bands features advanced EQ and dynamic controls that let you zero in on any problem spot – and treat it only when the problem arises.

Rather than treating a frequency one time and leaving it there for the entire track, F6’s EQ settings are sensitive to the dynamics of your track. This way you can select not only by how much, but also precisely when a specific frequency will be boosted or cut, compressed or expanded.

Take vocals for example: A singer’s tone changes throughout a performance depending on their position to the microphone. An EQ setting that works well when the singer is close to the mic and singing softly will not be as effective when the singer backs up and starts belting. F6 moves in time with the singer, kicking in when the vocal level crosses a certain threshold that you’ve set – and laying off when it falls below that threshold.

With the F6, you can EQ more precisely, with filters that can be as narrow or as wide as you like, free-floating bands that can overlap, variable EQ shapes, and threshold-sensitive EQ settings. F6 is ideal for isolating specific problems on individual tracks and fixing them transparently only when they pop out. The plugin’s advanced mid-side processing capabilities give you even greater ability to carve out EQ space in a busy mix, so you can breathe more life into your mixes.

Music is dynamic. The intensity of any piece of music constantly rises and falls. With the F6 dynamic EQ plugin, you finally have the perfect EQ tool to match this dynamic variation.
    • Precision EQ triggered by a built-in dynamic processor
    • 6 floating bands that can be placed anywhere in the spectrum
    • Powerful EQ and compression/expansion controls per band
    • Advanced sidechaining, parallel compression and mid-side processing
    • High and low pass filters; bell and notch EQ shapes
    • Each band features a solo/sidechain monitor
    • Touch-compatible
    • Zero latency and low CPU consumption
    • Equally effective for studio and live mixing

This all sounds a LOT like that Sooth EQ plugin from Oeksound, which is a good thing. A very good thing. Now I just wonder which one is going to be better!

You just mix up dynamic eq and multiband compressor. Both tools are different. Don't ask me what is the difference, recently I wrote in 2 threads. And other people wrote too.
    Don't mix up:
    - surgical equalizer with equalization curves, but with dynamics support.
    - compressor divided into bands.

Without any explanation. Just read how tool is called and everything becomes clear - dynamic eq, multiband compressor.

Usually a plug-in is other plugin on steroids. This one is Neutron on a bad day.

Pro-MB is multiband copmressor or dynamic eq?

I know about this subtle difference, but personally for me this is the same things, sorry

    Not so subtle.
Dyneqs can compress resonances with notch filter or bell peak. It is more subtle, invisible, more surgical.
MBcomps compress the certain ranges of whole audio, from a to b, from b to c...
/same for expansions, not only compressors

    So, you say it like:
I know the difference between VCA, opto, tube vari mu, FET compressors, but it is subtle, because they all compress.
I know difference between 2nd harmonic of tube saturator and 3rd harmonic of tapes and transistor saturator, but it is subtle and doesn't matter what exactly to use, because both saturate.
I know difference between moog and serum, but they all similar same electronic and synthetic to my ears.
I know difference between bass guitar, acoustic guitar and electro guitar, but they all the same, because they are all guitars.

That is why do exist different types of compressors, equalizers, clippers, limiters, exciters, saturators, delays, reverbs, synths...
And all of them have differences one vs another, one tool combined with another etc.

Pro mb is absolutely advanced and surgical multiband compressor / expander with upward and downward styles for both of them, with lookahead, phase modes and oversampling etc. But it is totally not a dynamic eq.

    ia,
Any non-multiband digital compressor can be multiband, just use a single-band compressor inside blue cats mb7 mixer on any band.

Tdr Nova can be eq, dynamic eq, compressor, multiband compressor at one instance

And for me, multiband compressor is very simplified version of dynamic eq. And equalizer is simplified version too, so it is eq with compressor/expansion section, may be used or not. But dynamic eq is not as multiband compressor. It is more.
So, c6 is not the same as F6.

I can do the same with MB comps.

no, I don't think so. If Pro-MB is MB comp, so why it doesn't compress the certain ranges of whole audio, from a to b, from b to c...?
Interesting, right? Especially by using this logic

    what?:woot::dunno::unsure::woot:
    What?:woot::excl:

In general it is impossible not to agree

    so much cool things

    How that correlates?

    Why?

    What?

    I don't understand this statement

    Basically same things

How much? OK let's compare F6 and Pro-MB
    Look

It seems like Pro-MB is capable to do the same things as F6 and in the same manner

Not the same thing at all... Not by a long shot...

Just look at the gui and you'll see that what's shown isn't possible with Pro MB, C6 or any multiband compressor. It's a dynamic eq...not a multiband compressor...

For a start the bands in a dynamic eq like this can overlap...this isn't possible in the multiband comps mentioned as they work on crossover points that allow compression in neighboring frequency ranges.

Nothing new I mean it's a cool plugin, but I see they not have spectrum analyzer:dunno:
In some cases is very necessary

    Please clarify[/QUOTE]

Q Width.... & HP/LP filters (which I'm guessing will be dynamic also just like Brainworx's Dynamic Eq)

The only similarity to a multiband comp is that it's a tool that compresses the signal... The frequency ranges it can work on are what make it drastically different...and this can/will give different results and are why you might choose to use one over the other. It's not necessarily better/worse, bt they're really not the same thing.

Guys, if you want to compare multiband compressors with dynamic EQs, start with how the actual filtering is applied: here's a simple fact - a multiband compressor with let's say 3 bands active and threshold 0 (so basically doing nothing) will pass the signal through it's crossovers and affect the phase of the signal at the crossing points; a flat dynamic EQ will pass the signal unaltered and will alter the phase only when bands are actually working. If some of you don't hear the difference it doesn't mean there isn't one.

How it correlates: Pro-MB is one of the surgical of what I've seen in multiband compressors variety. But what I mean, a dynamic eq is much more surgical than the most surgical multiband compressor (i.e. Pro-MB).
If you can do a notch with Pro-MB, it will be pain in ass. Can you compress 1000 Hz, not touching 999 Hz and 1001 Hz with multiband compressor? It is simpler and faster to do with dynamic eq, than fucking with simple bands, q, slopeness etc of multiband compressors.
What I call "Multiband compressor is something like a very simplified dynamic eq", is Multiband Compressor with "eq curves" like low-shelf, high shelf and "flat peak shelf" bands between them (flat bell peaks with) + crossovers. /Stupid explanation i know/
So, what about dynamic high pass/low pass filters?

ia, what's wrong with misunderstanding my statement? for example, if you use dynamic eq as boost/cut only, with threshold 0dB and ratio 1:1, it will work as usual equalizer, no dynamics applied.
if you work with dynamic section too, equalizer will compress/expand when the threshold achieved. But you can also boost/cut for comprensation, or not. Dynamic EQ is an equalizer which works only when threshold achieved.

    most simplest answer:
    MB - bands with crossovers.
Dyn EQ - equalizer curves (cuts, shelfs, peak/bells, notch; and their types: bessel, butterworth, chebyshev, elliptical and so on). More options, more types, more curves.
