Here it is, the official longer trailer.
Anyone excited about seeing this? The Blade Runner (1982) back then was visually stunning, the score was also amazing.
    This looks really good.

I'm a fan of Harrison Ford in general, so I have a good feeling about this film. Johann Johannsson is composing the score. His score for The Arrival had a bit of a Blade Runner vibe. I'm not familiar with much else of his work. He has a few too many consonants in his last name, but I won't hold that against him. Of course he's no Vangelis (who conversely has a very good vowel to consonant ratio), but I'm confident he can do a good job.

I had my fingers crossed that (((hollywood))) would leave one of my all time favorite movies and movie scores alone, but to be completely honest, this trailer does have me quite interested. Not all that familiar with the Director's previous works and I see he's going to be giving DUNE a go as well. Also, Goosling is a douche. lol

Yea the CGI/Green screen era is having a hard time recreating that grit and feel, also the lack of film, great cinematographers and good actors is another reason. Im talking about the general state of the movie production.
The original was filthy beautiful, the new one might be too clean. We shall see though, might be good after all.

Harrison could have pulled it off, but its obvious they are targeting the teen audience as well, could have been a worse casting decision imo, Gossling was very good in Drive( 2011).

Yep, I also want to see this movie in the theater. The first one had a fantastic atmosphere. Ridley Scott, Harrison Ford, Philip K Dick, Vangelis (and okay because I'm Dutch > Rutger Hauer in one of his better Hollywood performances) .. just amazing. Although I have to admit that when I watched the movie for the first time I didn't get it that much. Probably too young. Now I've seen the movie several times (all versions btw) and the behind the scenes/making of parts. It was not an easy movie to make/finish due to a lot of issues but they made it. Now I know that my expectations for the 2nd one can't be on the same level so we'll see. I like Ryan Gosling as an actor btw. :) He absolutely can act > Half Nelson (nominated for an Oscar) + Lars And The Real Girl for example.

Something else is on my mind though for a little while now > Harrison Ford is almost 75 but in comparison with a lot of other people/actors of the same age he looks still very good in shape (which explains why he can do another Indiana Jones movie, released in 2020). How is that possible? :woot: Daily work out, healthy food, disciplined life perhaps ..

Wish I hadn't seen this, cause what I saw had nothing to do with the original Masterpiece..

blade runner is a very special movie for me. i saw it at the right time and, in spite of all the horrendous reedited versions ( the FINAL final directors cut where the dove now flies into a filthy dark sky as opposed to it flying into a bright blue one : ) is a masterpiece. so, here we go, scott , not content to blitzkrieg the shit out of the alien franchise ( another towering classic which has had it's mystery, it's terror, completely enervated with Prometheus) , he has to fuck up the 'blade runner universe to. Douglas Trumbull persuaded Scott to shoot the effects in camera with optical effects which worked so beautifully will now be neutered with too-smooth cgi or 'fake grittiness. this looks respectful enough ( the director has made some very good films) but it is TOTALLY unnecessary. there are so many great ideas in the work of Philip K Dick alone, let alone in sci fi literature that it is getting a bit grating when filmmakers just keep drawing from the same well. all spectacle and no substance, emotionally hollow and lacking. for all intents and purpose this is a 'remake' or 'reboot' what have you. i will watch it, it will probably be really good, but it will be an enervation of a really classic sci fi movie.

Couldnt agree more. CGI has no mass, hence why i prefer prosthetics and miniature models vs CGI.
Worked well in Alien and 70s/80s star wars, blade runner, etc.

But first ET? And please dont ruin it. Got to teach the yoots, (lol) a lesson the only way we can reach them anymore. Its all too important now too. Being that were on the brink of admitting _____ existence, its really just a matter of time now.
I was saddened when I went to universal studios theme park in florida, and rode the JAWS and ET rides for the last time before they were decommissioned to be rebuilt into some newer trendy blockbuster rides. You could see the disrepair and neglect on all the herky jerky animatronics. The rubber latex skins ripped on the creases and faded from lack of touchups. The motions were sporadic like a pre-oiled tin man. I actually felt bad for the robots? LoL

For many years I have liked almost nothing Hollywood has been spewing out ..
but this looks bad... to the bone

sequels are almost always some kind of departure, fortunately it's been so long since
I watched the original, hence I want to see this first, then go back to the first one
so I won't be disappointed prematurely..

next question...will we have to wait until Oct 6 ? :bleh:

I never saw the original Ghost in the Shell anime. And I though the movie kicked ass (especially her catsuit RAWWWWR) But now I want to see the whole series. Hope I'm not post-maturely disappointed too.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TRY TO WATCH THE VACATION REMAKE. you have been warned

Has there ever been a remake as good as the original? :trashing:

Dune by the SciFi channel was pretty good so I don't think Hollywood can do any better with that.
But this Blade Runner trailer looks pretty good for a sequel.
Disney Star Wars sucks as did the prequels.
Star Treks new movies are pretty good though compared to the originals.

Huge movie fan here. I cannot wait. Won't even watch the trailer cuz i don't want any spoilers at all.
Love the original, have the soundtrack to it and vhs and dvd.....
It can't possibly be worse than Disneys Star Wars.
    I'm pre-ordering the popcorn.
