    fast as hell ?:hahaha:
theres around a 20-30 % slowdown on literally everything.
more useless bloatware, more inconsistency again.....3d paint (hooray)
some customizing features removed, g-sync issues, some machines don't even boot anymore, lost internet connections, wireless issues,
    heat issues,freezes....
    :deep_facepalm:

bad reports all over the place, a nightmare if you rely on your system.

essentially all you'll be doing is introducing new bugs into your setup alongside the new features.:suicide:
By installing the Creators Update all you'll essentially be doing is acting as an unpaid beta tester for Microsoft.

So I have to be glad the not very creative update doesn't install on any of my machines so far ("Something went wrong..." after several hours).
Another one of MS's hasty developements.

Been using it for a few weeks, no probs. No real differences, beyond there being 11 icons on the settings screen now instead of 9. Which is quite useful. The biggest difference (game changer) is a brand new icon on Windoze updates screen! OMG! There's also couple moar privacy settings. Woo-hoo! I guess I was just lucky that my hardware had drivers that got support in place?

    +1

..had to install W10 coz 1 of my external devices wasn't working with 7. Didn' even know it was CU.
can confirm - update crashes (on my other pc) & reverts to previous version. Funny thing, the machine that crash is newer..

for privacy conscious - shutup10 is compatible with CU new spy... features

It doesn't install on any of my systems, oh blimey! I'm so sad now. I could use a bit of a slowdown on my Debian, XP and 7.

Ive actually been debating upgrading (clean install) to 8.1 from 7 x64. The only thing thats stopping me is that its a huge ordeal with 5 drives (2ssds) installed locally with the OS on one and programs on another. Its going to take a while to get everything setup properly. And all that reinstalling stuff.

    "fast as hell"?
    what is "faster"?

    "radically different"?
    what is "radically" different?

I wouldn't update 2 Win8, it's a real tablet mishmash. Well, it was when I used it. Just go to 10, assuming ur using a desktop? Or stay on 7. Win10 has brilliant features, like a dark theme that works w/ nearly 60% of the OS! Actually, I do like it, despite that >__>; ditto the other eyestrain thing...

That brief slowdown is just WannaCry making ur drives work faster, it'll be with u shortly just click this link....

Im not worried about GUIs. I know how to reel them all in for pure performance. I have a windowblinds license but prefer the Windows Basic Theme (a custom black one) I was talking about 8.1 too, not 8. Here is what I was basing my decision on what version to upgrade to
    http://www.techspot.com/review/1042-windows-10-vs-windows-8-vs-windows-7/
I disable all the sleep and hibernation/superfetch so those benchmarks don't apply to me. What I see is both perform better than win 7. But Win10 and Win 8.1 are neck and neck. Win 8.1 is like Win10 without all the spying and constant updating/patching.
From what I see is all Win 10 is really faster at is waking up and going to sleep. Trying to be like macs on that front I guess. I have 2 ssds installed so startup isn't really an issue. Right now in Win 7 it takes a little over a minute until Im clicking around on the web from a cold boot. But I also run a lean and mean setup too. All unneeded services and processes are disabled. And nothing preloads or caches until I run the apps.

Yeah, so was I. It kinda still assumes that ur using a tablet by default, which makes (esp) setting up (and using) more difficult. Mind you, it's ages since I used it, so it's more of a vague feeling than objective reality. Probably.

Spying u can turn off pretty easily. Updating could annoy, if ur used 2 Win7?

That hybrid sleep thing is available on Win8, I think? If that's what u mean? Sleep / pow down seem much the same. Just tested sleep and it's ~3s to sleep, ~2s to wake. Otherwise, it's kinda win updates that take noticeably less time compared 2 other Win. It kinda goes 2 ur login w/ slight delay, u don't seem to get that % thing when u reboot.

I use Windows 10 because I like the shade of blue they use in that line underneath my open apps on the taskbar.

The spying is by default ON on 7, 8.1 and 10. e.g., less than 2 months the patches KB2952664 (for Windows 7) and KB2976978 (for Windows 8.1) that trigger the snoopy DoScheduledTelemetryRun task have been reissued. Even if you've blocked them before, you needed to do it again. There are of course other ups for both versions that only increase telemetry and run whether you have CEIP ON or OFF.
@subGENRE I know you know how to deal /w this if you are in the business, but many don't.. and I was like you /w 7 till I had to switch for xx reason.
@famouslut /w CU you can also activate deferring of updates
