    Ok
So I have a nice build up/rise (snare hitting faster and faster or a rise getting to it's edge)
    Now what?
Whatever I do after that just doesn't sound good. My ear is expecting a blast after the rise (or after the rise and small silence) but what ever drums and crashes I put after that it sounds weak. Am I missing something? How to get that "BLAST" sound after the build up? the "dance to" part? Crashes? Cymb? Snares? I hear something is there in other songs but I can't put my finger on it.

    Any advice will be appreciated

    Thanks
    NY

You can add a filter sweep with white noise or even reverse the crash sample

It depends on what you are trying to do

Of course, your sound have to be massive, regardless of any pshhhhh or swoooshhh... but you know that, right ? ^ ^

What is the industry name for that 'Blast" after the build up? The explosion.. as it enters next segment of the song?

Best example I can think of is in Party Rock Anthem.. when all the confetti is shot off..

I think that explosion bit is a combination of an eq/filter sweep and then right when it hits the peak of the sweep one of those distorted massively reverby techno kicks to punctuate it or just an explosion with a kick behind it
For me the key to these kind of drops is down to careful eq'ing / mixing. So for instance if you had a big reverby pad, some sort of a rising tone and some drums building up to a drop. To the listener the build up will sound really full they're thinking damn this can't get any bigger ! but in terms of eq (if all the tracks are eq'ed properly) its not troubling much under 100hz, as soon as you cut out that big reverby pad and the rising tone and let your tune drop you're suddenly throwing in sub bass at 100-50hz fatter kicks and snares than in the build up more mid bass, you're using more of the eq range(crucially the low end) so its not really much louder than your build up but it sounds 'bigger' when it drops

use a double hit of a ride bell on the two first kick hits... heavy compressed and reverberated; slighty ducked by the kick... and some noise downsweep added in the background.
    that's Rock 'n Roll! :dancing:

    or kinda Prodigy-like..

or simply do nothing and start at 2.. there should be enough release times and reverb tails from the build ups (as a bridge).
    create some tension..

i guess it depends of the track u made ...im sure u have made yourself an idea of how you want it to sound ...but because you ask, do nothing like someone said, and then enter with the kick and a nasty bass just remember to keep it simple, of course you can do crazy stuff like in electro and whatever shitty tracks go around today but this is all depending on what genre of music you do ...make a backup of your project and on another backup of it play, just go crazy, if you not heard something doesent mean you cannot do it, be creative, happy accidents can always happen so just ''try'' ...after that re-enter with your main line sound with another little build up and continue with as long as you like but then again, dont exaggerate ...the track could be very good, when you exaggerate it will become boring ...

    ...hope it helps, cheers :mates:

Put crash or clap/snare in long reverb and voila, blasting exploding sound, sidechain it and you have nice driving fx :) reverse it and you have uplifter ;)

Put your kick drum before your whole beat, reverse that kick drum, make a little fade out so your main kick have a greater impact, and once again you have little urge :)

"What to do after the rise/build up?"

It depends on the situation. Usually they want to cuddle while I am looking for the quickest way out of there. :)
