It's incredible how you think you can charge this much for this simple skin?
Maybe 1-5$ so you manage to get some income before it's pirated!
But 20$ is really a joke to me!

indeed... price too high... if you had modified the plug entirely with different looks buttons and all that stuff maybe different layout what do you have charged?... I agree no one is obligated to buy but there is nothing fancy on this skin that could make me buy it... I totally appreciate your work but in my opinion too as @mynet pointed out its too much... look at plugmon skins...for Uhe plugs... he is definitely one of the best skins designers I've seen ...also look at Volta skin for Diva... that could make me buy ...again no offence... I respect your work still but in order to gain popularity you have to start low... a step at the time... best wishes and good luck!

@Menorah: Try to read it an other way. Mynet doesn't ask for a rebate, His point of view is the price is too high, so it will be most likely pirated and not bought. A much lower price may increase sales and makes it unattractive to steal.

I don't wanna break your balls, but you do know that there's a major serum update on the way with a completely reworked scaleable GUI which will probably render your graphics useless?

That's A Good Point To Notice @5teezo But If You Used My Free Reveal Spire Or Waves Skins , You Get That My Redesigning Works Will Work With Every Update As I Expected.

 

I love it too but its a little too steep for me for a skin.

Also worth mentioning for quality and price point is satYatunes skins. He makes the melda suite actually look really nice, as well as Hive and Dune. At at a resonable price too.. He hit gold with the Melda skins. Everybody hates the default colored ones.
Maybe try to find a plugin that everyone loves but cant stand the gui.
Hm Airwindow comes to mind, but that would be gui building, more than just reskinning.
Also try gearslutz, thats where the money lives (more legit users)

Looks really nice. Better than the original probably. but I wouldn't spend $20 on a skin.

The Volta skin for Diva actually adds things that the plugin doesn't have, in that you get a graphical representation of the LFOs' speed, phase and mod depth, among other things, and I paid 8 bucks for that.

People who keep this scene alive spend months of their time to share their work with others without
any thought about gaining as much money as possible. I for example spent 4 weeks (besides real life work)
just for the toontrack package and I never thought "Ye, I do that to become a rich Mofo", I just did it for my
own experience. The same happened with all the graphics and animations you can see in that release, which
took me about 4 days of time and when I create skins and translations for software, I do it for the same
reasons.

For me, it's just for gaining knowledge, having fun and making people as happy as I do it for myself.

 

Nice work, @THENATAN. Me thinks $5 - $10 is fair for most skins. The flat design doesn't appeal to me. But, you stated 2 Live skins come with this. What do the Ableton skins look like? And, I'd want to test the skin on the updated Serum when it drops.

(Note: even some of the legit Serum users are spending $10 a month with Splice.)

 

I spent 189$ at the beginning of serum and I wouldn't care about paying 20$ for something but for a skin,
it's definitively too much and 1 week of work also doesn't justify that price.

 

If he had made it from scratch it's a whole other story.

What do you pay for a complete mobile app for ex??
How much more time do you think it took to make a whole app and the GUI also??
Jet it's much cheaper, do you see where I'm coming from?

He asks for a price of "10%" of what Serum cost, I bet he didn't think of it that way, maybe he would have reconsidered the price.

I too have made skins, much more advanced then this and I know it can take time BUT it's nothing when comparing to making Serum for example. Just try to imagine how much time and work it took?? With your price thinking Serum would cost "10'000$" Do you understand how I think now?

Keep doing skins but rethink the price
