A while back during the conversation about integral and his money making posting of free ware, I recall reading @ArticStorm had decreed that amongst other things, a zippyshare link had to be included on free ware posts at AZ. Nearly all uploaders appeared to be following that ruling, which was great to see.

However, integral is not including a zippylink in his posts on AZ. The question is why they are not removed until he is forced to comply, or for repeated breaches of the rules he has his posting privileges revoked?
If the zippyshare links are now not required, can an authority state it once and for all.

As it is, it does look like a blatant middle finger to @ArticStorm and the will of the members who contributed to the discussion and helped shape the rules.

I completely agree with the OP

Also, please understand this us not rant as I have a huge amount of respect for site administration on both sites.

It is simply a personal observation with regards to a recurrent problem.
It appears to me personally as If the rules are now broken on a consistent basis on both sites and the staff appear to be doing little it anything to combat the growing problem.
It appears as if they are turning a blind eye.

All to often there are simply no staff present to enforce the rules. This is happening nowadays on a consistent basis.

Rules exist for a reason. It now appears as if the administration is ignoring the very rules it created. This can be noted all to often.
Such behaviour puts the community at risk.
The likely result of such radical behaviour will be widespread internal arguments and squabbling.
This In turn will affect the communities existence.

I was impressed by the manner in which this issue was initially dealt with. It was both fair and diplomatic.
A vote was taken and the community voiced it's opinion.
    The results were strikingly clear.
These rules should now be implemented and enforced as they represent the wishes of the community.
I will not drop ANY names out of respect for the all the staff whom I believe, in general do a good job.
However if the community votes then the site administration SHOULD implement and maintain these wishes.
Without mutual respect the community will splinter, fragment and cease to function as a community should.
I also have noticed in recent times that many of the rules are being broken on a regular basis and nothing is done.
All to often there are NO staff members around for prolonged periods of time.
POSSIBLY it's time that some NEW faces are drafted to make sure the wishes of the community are enforced.
One example - it has now become commonplace that this very forum is all to often become a marketplace for wares issues and it is now common to see wares links left for days on end.
Sadly, it seems as if the staff are now turning a blind eye or simply ignoring the very rules they themselves implemented
All to often there are no staff around.
What kind of message does this send to the community.
IT has got to the point where the community now appears to be policing itself. How long before vigillante groups appear?
This did not happen a few years ago
Personally I think it's now time that the administration should act as there appears to be several cracks that are widening rapidly. This is simply my own personal observations and I still hold the administration in high regard. I personally think it's time that certain changes are made - Peace

we all can report warez linking in the forum.. but to do that you have to feel it's the right thing to do..and DO IT
when I report them.. I notice they do get removed fairly quickly... but it's too big for just a few mods to keep track of
perhaps... so let's help them out with a click or two.. so they have a heads up at least !

I'm not really invested in the whole Integral conversation, but I always wondered why people don't just download freeware from the dev website? Tbh software devs are one of the few groups of people I don't mind signing up/giving my e-mail to. If you're lucky, they'll put you on a mailing list that lets you know when they're releasing updates, putting stuff on discount, or otherwise giving stuff away.

Part of my morning routine is going through my spam e-mails to see if one of my plugin devs has anything useful to say.

For me, I sometimes have difficulties to remember all the rules on all the different forums I read and write occasianally.

So it would be nice, to keep the rules simple and let software of the forum manage rule enforcement as much as possible.
For instance, it should be possible to downvote a post not accordig to rules by the users, so that it will be automaticcaly set on a "control list" (say, after 5 downvotes and of course made invisible until revised) for the admins. You'll need a button for "against rules" and some lines of code.

In some forums you'll tend to write nothing because rules are too complicated to follow and you're banned on the first misbehaviour.

So, please, keep it simple, don't be too harsh and let software do the job.

Is Matt still "broken"? I've not caught up with teh old rasslin in a while and Billy Corgan getting involved seemed that it'd be interesting as a huge fan boy of anything they released in the 1990's, However that quickly went sour, It was genuinely the only interesting thing going on character/storyline wise but I'm unable to get whatever damned channel it airs on where I am, So just lost interest and became obsolete.
Brother Nero deserved the broken brilliance, Too many character's that bar being a spot monkey just we're gay (that willow garbage as a prime example), Brother Nero's better when he's on the meth:chilling:

I think they are still in Court on The Broken Brilliance Gimmick. They are not BROKEN it seems atm. Matt tweeted what could "SAvAGE" gimmick, I dunno. I feel it is mandatory for Matt to be Broken or at least a new character that is like BROKEN. I think Jeff should be Jeff tho and should concentrate more on a single title reign and main event Mania like he always dreamed. Preferably with Styles.

there were never a rule to include ZippyShare link into freeware posts. rules says that every post must include links to RG, UL and a link to developer's home page. Those are the rules on this subject.

In a thread about freeware on AZ, after pages of discussion, @ArticStorm clearly stated, amongst other things, having a zippy or other free link as part of the requirements for posting free software. That's why most uploaders of free stuff were including zippyshare links. Why else would they do it?
If you say don't want to enforce that community reached decision, then fair enough, it's your site, but have the common decency to state, against the wishes of the membership, why you won't insist on implementing it.
Surely you won't deny what exists in the archives?

Seems fair enough a request given the majority numbers on this, my side of the fence.

ArticStorm is not an administrator to make that decision and i've already sent him my letter of "thanks" for creating that situation.

    i won't say anything new:
    1. AudioZ doesn't distinguish freeware from shareware.
    2. ZippyShare is a crap hosting which uses redirects and removes files after a week.
    3. i will not create more problems for uploaders by complicating our rules even more, just because a few members want to prove some point, which i never agreed with.

there will always be a link to developer's home-page. please stop complaining.

My God! Don't you think, that's a little bit exaggerated? As if it has been a capital offense
This is a nice and clean forum. The only thing that sucks is, every now and then one "makes a thunderbolt from a fart"*
