I've installed the V.R. release of Alchemy, but every time I open an instance it scans for presets. Which basically makes it useless (scan take 5-10 minutes each time).

My question is, does anyone possibly know of a way to disable preset scanning with alchemy? Is there maybe an xml file or something that can be altered to avoid scanning? I'm on Windows 7 x64 fl studio 12.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Did you have alchemy installed before?I had to erase all my old ones (I had other problems though).Have you tried going to the options part and setting new path to the library?

 

HAHA! Yeah, finally broke down, deleted every-damn-thing I could find related to Alchemy, reg entries and all - reinstalled and all is working lovely! For now anyway. lol Thanks!

 

Hey man It's complete fucked, you need to re install 1.25 and your librarys will work and also the synth, and the preset error will go away. Team VR is sloppy

 

yeah, i had to reinstall libraries. but it would need doing anyway as i was getting loads of sample missing errors before. this update seems to have fixed that. : )

 

I didn't feel like going through all that so I put all the libraries in one folder and extracted with 7zip then just drag into my folder. they will save to presets libraries and samples all libraries named no issue then drop into main folder. also if you want to use an external HD go to program data on Windows and grab the folder structure drag to whatever drive you want to use and then drag the files I said earlier and go inside alchemy and tell it were to look. that's how I did it if not you have to go through all the crap of installing other versions because it has the library Placer in it I only installed vr edition after deleting everything and mine works perfectly fine.
