Is Spitfire Audio's Albion V Tundra out there in the wild? And is there a law suit?

I've just been browsing a bit on the web and stumbled across a listing for this Kontakt library on one of our favourite RUssian Tracker sites that was uploaded on 27 March and has since been pulled down, allegedly because Spitfire Audio filed a law suit against the releaser according to one of the posts in the comments for it. I'm not sure if I can link to it here as, theoretically it is not linking to warez as there's nothing on the link to download, but it is part of a site that does have warez. To be safe, I will not include the link for now unless a mod clears it.

However, it was apparently grabbed and downloaded 66 times before it was pulled down according to the tracker site. Therefore, it theoretically should now be out there in the wilderness somewhere, which is interesting.

It would be interesting to know who the releaser was too and whether the claim of a law suit is true or just a random conspiracy theory? Would it be the first case of a major developer filing a law suit against a releaser rather than just issuing a DCMA request?

A part of me is also thinking it may have been an early April fools

It's unlikely. When you have scavengers like sunny and integral scouring the interwebs for any possible music related files to upload, if it hasn't found it's way to audioz then it probably doesn't exist. They would even upload half a library. They've done it before.

And as for a possible lawsuit...who cares? Leave the gossiping to old ladies. Unless of course, you are actually old ladies. In which case, carry on :like:

    What?
BTW, I'm not sure why people just want to download more and more crap.
All these companies have wonderful marketing and shitty products.
I've yet to hear any string library that can be pushed to play fast passages without sounding like shit.
We have to wait more until someone comes with a decent physically modelled orchestra for such stuff along with all the asian bending techniques and avantgarde noises.

Did you listen some demo songs on Spitfire or Orchestral Tools websites?

I don't know for you but if I was able to do 1% of these demos, I would live happily ever after.

The library is just a tool that you use and ultimately depend on your skills, having a physically modeled orchestra will not change a lot, except for the HD requirements of course.

Despite the attitude, he is right. We keep wanting more and more, that's part of the warez life and it's incredible how the more we get, the more we want.

Pokemon players and pirates have something in common, I guess.

Yup. Just depends on where DCMA submissions have been made as to what sites they're available from.

The only good stuff I've heard in these demos were the phrases or live recorded parts that aren't actually part of the library, but I listen every day to symphonic recordings and I'm trying to go concerts and opera from time to time...

Hey guys, let me refresh the topic a little bit. Why don't buy the software together? With some coupon it's around 300 GBP, which could be 30 people x 10 GBP which is quite fine. I know there is a lot of trust involved. Who's interested? We could have a campaign on sth like https://www.indiegogo.com (of course we cannot mentioned the real product, but it could be sth like delivering similar product to people who pay 10 GBP).

    Regards,
    Marg

Sure, can we buy it with your credit card? You can trust us! :mates:

There's a good reason for teams requesting at least two copies of the same release, because there's always an asshole that leaks this sort of stuff in the wild. Unless lawsuits are your thing, I'd highly advise you to stay away of group buys with random internet people.

And it's not like we can't already score the next blockbuster with the available tools... what is lacking is actual composing skills lol
