I know there is at least with the Drum Rack because it recently happened to me, but I have no idea how or why. I've googled for an answer but no matter how I word it I can't seem to come up with anything. Any help would be appreciated-- I'm finding it preferable for editing. Thanks!

That button with the headphones toggles the monitoring/preview of midi while you edit it.

No problem, we have a few resident Ableton power users here. If you get stuck just ask. We are always willing to help. You will probably get a quicker response than any other forum too.

I know live preview can get crazy if you got huge chords on a system crippling serum patch with too many voices. Select a bunch of doubled chords and move them and youre begging for a crash.

 

I appreciate that. I'm relatively new to Ableton plus I think I tried to make things way more complicated than they really were.

 

Dude the one that always startles me is drum racks. 8-16 loud drum sounds and I mindlessly lasso them all with a click and drag and bam! instant shart in my pants.
