    Hah apparently they have been slowed down both because of focusing on other libraries (ie Cinebrass and the upcoming Cinebrass Pro), and because they're planning on releasing a Voxos Light.

    I personally never got Voxos because I got Tonehammers Liberis and Requiem Full instead. Sorry... I think those are the only two libraries in my collection that I can't share, because they are individually watermarked by the company. (Some say the watermarking on their choir libraries is a myth, but I don't want to risk it either way...)

    @ allshallfade,

    First of all, I will not try in any way to force you : these are your libraries and you have obviously the right to not share them. However, I would like to give here my opinion on watermarking.
    Watermarking of sample libraries is a myth, and it applies to ALL of them.
    In fact, watermarking is a technique which can "theoretically" work. In practice, it's another story...
    The huge amount of technical and financial resources to deploy makes its application nearly impossible, and even less for small businesses like Tonehammer. They should indeed :
    - watermark all samples
    - analyse all audio streams - worldwide - to detect their samples
    - verify that an audio clip or a song which contains a watermarked sample was originally released by a person who does not own the library license (and that's obviously not the most easy part of the job :bleh: )
    - prosecute offenders in court with an army of lawyers (often in foreign countries)
    Believe me, if this had happened once they would not fail to advertise it, but concerning sample libraries, I never heard ONE case of prosecution thanks to watermarking, do you ?
    Conclusion : it's a total bluff, but it works...

    Proof :

    "PERPETRATORS BEWARE: Unauthorized use, distribution, or duplication is a violation of applicable laws. With ModernBeats Secure ID® Technology, you WILL be caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. ModernBeats' attorneys have won every copyright infringement lawsuit pursued. Don't become a convict, obey the law and avoid a costly lawsuit with ModernBeats, Inc. In addition to ModernBeats, Inc's proprietary Secure ID® Tag encryption, ModernBeats Inc's attorneys use government-supported Waveform Screening Analysis Technology in a court of law to prosecute perpetrators of copyright infringement and illegally selling or distributing ModernBeats products. The U.S. judicial system allows this technology as a tool for supporting evidence against perpetrators of copyright infringement. Report all infringement findings and concerns to [email protected]."

    ... and you still can download 28 ModernBeats sample libraries @ AN :rofl:

    @ LordGaga

    Thank you for the info.
    But does it really have to be that complicated?

    Couldn't they, let's say, just watermark one sample, and if their product get released in warez forums, they download it, check this sample, and so they know from which buyer the product was supplied.

    I don't know if that would work, just asking. :dunno:

    Again, nice update Diabulus! I actually own Sonar and didn't realize that update wasn't published, or I would have uploaded it as well, didn't think to check.

    @Lord Gaga:

    In all honesty, I shouldn't have added the bit about Requiem at all- I brought it up purely because the conversation went that way, but I fear that it may have come across as "ha ha I have this library and I won't upload it for you all!!" That wasn't my intention. While I certainly agree that it would be tough to watermark all of the samples and likely is advertised more to keep people like me from sharing, it's a risk I'm not willing to take unfortunately. They already stopped selling Requiem Lite for half a year because of piracy (they claim to have caught the provider, but that is probably bs), and only this week announced they will sell it again... better safe than sorry. Again, sorry for bringing it up at all, I know it might have seemed rude for me to do so!

    @Gulliver,

    One point taken mate :wink: . But let's say it happens, the original owner can claim that someone has stolen his computer or DVD's... Will he remain legally responsible even in a case of simple lost ? I'm not sure. Of course, it would be unsafe to distribute this kind of material via your own computer and/or your own IP address.

    One thing remains certain, these so-called "watermarked" libraries that are distributed illegally all over the web weren't ALL purchased with stolen credit cards...

    @allshallfade,

    You don't have to be sorry at all. As I said, it's your library and no one has the right to blame you for not sharing it. Enjoy it and make some nice music ! *yes*

    they may not read the REQ section, but they sure as hell see requests on recent posts page :wink:

    unfortunately that's impossible, because we must keep this forum 100% legal.

    but really, it's not such a big problem at the moment. people do see requests. *yes*

    Well, you're the boss, but I assure you I've never been to this "recent posts" page - I've never even been to the Nav section - I usually check the main page only... but, hey, that's me and as you probably noticed I'm far from a sane guy... :unsure:

    That makes sense SAiNT, thanks anyway!

    Just another update heads up for the OP: Orchestral String Runs came out with a big update, Orchestral String Runs 2 today. Improves many aspects, including playable slurred runs. Unlike LASS LS, it is a -free- update for registered users (and it is not through NI Service Center, so shouldn't be a huge problem there).

    Unfortunately, this is an update for all the Legato Ensembles -- the Uillean Pipes tend to stick when you try playing them, and the other legato instruments make some weird ticking noises when you attempt to manipulate the dynamics (via the mod wheel, I think). According to ProjectSAM's site, the hotfix replaces all of the legato ensemble patches at the same time. Otherwise, Symphobia 2 works great ... but those legato ensembles are almost useless. There's also a major update slated for later this year, so by the time some kind soul does get the hotfix out, we'll be yelling for that.

    (By the way, it's not through NI's Service Center, but direct from ProjectSAM's site. The trick is, you have to be a registered Symphobia 2 owner to access it, so it's not impossible ...)

    No need for someone else to upload it, at least for 64 bit, it looks like silly Cakewalk forgot to force users to login to download the files at your link. So download them quick before they realize their error, I installed and it all works great on my end. :rofl:
