Well you could always ask Saint to prevent your IP Address from downloading anything. I'm not sure if he will have ever received a request like that before though!

without Warez you guys would be still hooked on FL Studio, free plugs, free sample packs, freebies, and trial versions of top plugins, at best you could jump into the Synthedit/Reaktor/MAX/Faust bandwagon and making your own FX.

nothing wrong with that but it would still take an inordinate amount of time and dedication, time that should be better spent producing music.

 

I agree with the above. People are making too big a deal of it. The world is too fucked up to feel bad about something like pirating.

 

Go hardware and have a more tactile, fun experience.

please, note that I'm not trying to be an idiot, but... when I was downloading like a boss....I was not creating, not producing, not becoming familiar with the tools, not maturing my internal taste/focus, not seeing me going up in the scale on my producer/mixing path, not being able to chose the few tools (daw, plugins, hardware) that I really need to go to the next level, I was falling on all of this like a boss. My way of seeing this today is that occasionally there may be a plugin that might add something different and that can be a great "player" to add in my league. Other than that is just a bit of chaos. This suits me good because it's less confusing and what I really want is to get to the finish line with every production , if possible like a boss.

 

Without warez, a good EQ plugin like Q2 wouldn't cost 150$/€ but 30 or 20 bucks... Maybe I'm wrong and it is 50, but it's obvious that firms will need to have it to make it that cheap since everbody *would* start to buy it and the nature of free marekt based on competition will lead to this effect (proof: do we steal hardware for thousands of dollar? ->no. Why? Because it's not possible (that easy), but why buy HW anyhow).

Besides synergy effects, like no copyright protections were needed, which also makes things easier to develop, faster, simpler and especially cheaper for the customers.

Yeah, if we just *would* live in a perfect world....

 

Buying your own software makes more values what you have and you will no longer have to continue to download things compulsively.
