Yep...that pretty much sums it all up.

Like Gulliver pointed out...why not a version for PCs, (desktop GUI), and another for mobile devices, (metro GUI)? It's not like major rocket science or anything, but still...this isn't surprising for M$.

It would seem, though, that they are not counting on virtually any business customers this time around.

relax guys, everybody knows Win8 is a tablet platform and it won't replace Win7 (that's actually official statement from Mic-Soft)

Maybe they will introduce the Metro interface to Win7 as well, with the Service Pack 2

If it aint broken don't fix it.I am testing Win 8 and the difference in performance is not even noticeable. It is however an interesting OS nonetheless. The biggest performance difference will always be felt in your hardware.I bought a new generation MSI gaming laptop specifically for music production.3rd gen i7 CPU,32Gb's of 1600 DDR3,USB 3,dual drives 120Gb SSD/1Tb standard with a GTX680 Nvidia GPU.I honestly cannot feel any difference between 7 and 8 performance-wise.I have tried my best to find the limits of my machine and am having a real hard time making it choke.So....at the end of the day it will be your hardware that determines your bottomline performance. No OS in the world is going to make your crappy hardware perform better.
