    Hi all,

    recently I became aware of the fact that there is so much information about us being stored by search engines e.g. Google, so now I really want to try to avoid using Google. I know I might get cold turkey symptoms because they've made me addicted to that 'smooth' browsing experience and all those fancy side products they offer and it's still good in that way, but I just don't agree with the privacy policies of most of their products. I actually don't have anything to hide beside some audio warez 'n some xxx ( :rofl: ), but I don't feel comfortable when other people have access to your online business, just like in real life. Now I've been informed of this site named 'DuckDuckGo' and been using it ever since, maybe y'all should look into that site too (in case y'all weren't already). This search engine handles your personal (search) information way better, here's some links to it;

    https://duckduckgo.com/about.html

    https://duckduckgo.com/privacy.html

    Now I also want to delete Google Chrome and go back to Firefox like I used to have. Is it complete paranoia or not?

    Anybody here tell me some pro's & con's (or some alternatives) please *yes*

    I'm using DuckDuckGo most of the time, too.

    Also, I use Firefox with "Https Everywhere" and "Https finder" addons. I think Google wants to know too much about everybody so the thought of using Chrome never actually occurred to me. I'm actually considering using NetBSD or something completely awkward for the Internet computer... LOL Well, actually, FreeBSD is easier to set up. This bloody Windows computer is all aboout audio anyway. Not much shit on it. Very clean. It's going to last forever, especially without Internet on it.

    I don't think it's paranoid. It's just the way it is-they are spying on us, and I don't want anyone to know what I do online, fullstop. It's nobody's business to know that. Except my wife. :)

    Cheers!
