Hi guys! I installed the demo of the Legend, but had not enough time to test it. Now the test period is over and there are not the best videos on youtube. Any chance testing it again for other 30 days? I'm not sure if I strongly need it, because I already have Monark. What do you think?

I've just installed it after a long time and suddenly it worked again. :) The last time I installed it 3 times but it didn't work. OK, problem solved!

Had the same issue with test period. Here's the fix.

    1 Uninstall
    2 Delete these two keys:
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-XX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-500\Software\Synapse Audio\Legend
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-XX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-500\Software\Classes\CLSID\{6250XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}
    3 Reinstall

I've heard, starting with version 1.1, there's a demo reset option made available by the developer.

Get in touch with them and ask for a discount. Always worth trying imo
Synapse Audio really helpful & cool from my own past experience.
    Is a good price anyhow.
I bought it a while back & it well worth the money. 1.1 has just been released & there are several great additions & improvements.
When you consider that monark is dependent on Reaktor also it makes Legend an even more attractive proposition.
The nearest thing on the market maybe in terms of a primarily mono synth might be repro-1 one. I own all three of the above synths and for me personally The Legend comes out on top in a few ways.
Repro-1 of course is strictly mono and so is monark.
They will always remain that way.
So those two are slightly different.
The filters on Repro-1 are slightly better and there is a detailed sequencer. The FX options are more widespread etc.
The legend is an analog modelling synth. Personally I think it soundwise it's the "best" out of the three.
It is also cool in the sense of it is real primitive and a breeze to make real good sounds with.
1.1 update has added a bandpass filter which is fantastic so the options are now much more widespread.
They have also expanded the factory library to 480 presets.
The FX are not as varied but they ones they do have are really good.
The other great thing is that it is capable of Polyphonic modes meaning you can create some really great "fat" analogue type sounds.
It's can sound real warm as well.
Of course there is great debate as to the actual effectiveness and validity of Poly in these type of synths. Personally I think it's a welcome option and only serves to extend options with regards to sounds.
Personally I think it's the best of the three mentioned above.
As said Synapse Audio are really helpful and willing to help whenever they can I have found personally
In fact I think all their products are really great and a fair price.
    Great communication also.
At that price or if you can get a discount etc it's well worth the money in my own opinion :bow:

Mans thanks for this detailed answer! I might need Legend as soon as possible. Oh yes, Repro-1 is on my must-have list, too. I think they are worse the money. Perhaps I have to wait for a special deal (no money left, because of Heartbeat and Avenger. :/
Buy the way many thanks for the fix MacGyver.

Yes, I've seen it. Last week I tried the demo and it was amazing to play the sounds by Duran Duran's Save a prayer. I love these 80's sounds.

In a post above Greggers said (he has heard) about a demo reset option since v1.1 that Synapse Audio has integrated. For me it worked with a reinstall of Legend. So no need to fix it manually (I hope so).

yes, it was mentioned in The Legend thread on another forum. I guess, when the demo expires, it just resets the clock or offers an option to do it.

After investigations (Registry monitorings) and prior to discover this topic, I've discovered this (only for Windows platforms)...

How to restart "The Legend demo" for... 30-days again:

    - First close any "The Legend" plugin instance (close your DAW).
    - Run REGEDIT.EXE with administrative rights.
    - Open this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Synapse Audio\Legend
    - Inside this key, delete these three values: Data (if exists), Data1 and Data2.
    - Now open this key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID
    - Use Ctrl+F to search this subkey: {625053E0-DC81-43A8-8D66-B6509260A639}
(use copy/paste functions to copy the key above, then paste into search field in regeditor)
    - When found, you've win an extra-life simply by deleting this subkey entirely!
    - Close REGEDIT then run your DAW, then open The Legend Demo for 30 additional days! (enjoy)

    NOTES:

    - No need to uninstall then reinstall (as MacGyver said above), just close all DAWs first to be sure.
    - This tip has been tested with version "1.10 DEMO" on two separate PCs (different mobo brands) + 1 virtual machine (VMware WS running different Windows version, tweaked BIOS, custom MAC address for NIC, different HDD signature and so on).
    - This tip works anytime (during trial period or after 30-day expiration).
    - For this demo version, I've never found an official option (from Synapse Audio) to reset the 30-day expiration (it's to be detrimental for business:suicide:), but making a tool (EXE) is very easy for any skilled developer (5 min).
