Hi :D,im having a problem, I´m trying to put a (lead/bass) and a slap bass together, but the lead is masking the slap bass.

Try to increase an octave up in the lead or manipulate the stereo image of any of them, Using an equalizer is also a solution, but do not use solo to equalize the track in case of frequency masking.

 

Obvious choice would be to low pass the lead.

be careful to high pass the bass, its important it does not lose the presence in the mix.

You could also layer some leads to give it a wider and thicker sound, with more frequencies occupied.

 

this is where sidechain compression shines imo.

 

I tried sidechain and it didn´t worked,BTW I wanted the lead to have a lot of bass XD. :v

 

I'd try bandpassing the Slap bass, something has to be sacrificed or your mix will be muddy, if the lead is to have lot's of bass the slap bass doesn't, mixing is all about creating space for each element.

I second this. There's already a bass, so you should focus on the signature of a slap, which is found in the mids.

 

can you put link i cant tell what is happening without hearing it, there is no helpful stereotype in this situation that substitutes for what is actually happening with the audio in your specific case
