    Ello m8.

It's really early on in this release. By the time it gets to version 6, version 5 might be bug free. ( I very much doubt it, but it might)

I don't know if this will help but I uninstalled and removed all traces of the Arturia Service Center after installing and I play with Modular V for hours sometimes. I prefer 4 to 5 aswell.

I don't have any issues with C8E and Live (Windows 10).

But did you experience any bugs prior to the service center uninstall?
Also, why exactly do you prefer 4 over 5?

Lower CPU usage in Modular and the practically all the GUIs are less intensive. Not really an important factor but I think they look better too.
That Farfisa in 5 is nice though.

    And the sound, much different?

    Hello.
A few years ago, I tried some Arturia plugins. They are, to this day, the fastest to get uninstalled from my system - they crashed everything.
I stayed away from anything named Arturia since then.
A few weeks ago, I thought about testing this Arturia V collection, thinking things evolved.
Looking at this thread, it confirms what I already knew. Sad, but true.

That's from your perspective, I must admit that I had never any issue with Arturia even from first versions.

I don't think there is any difference in sound, 4 => 5 is just a GUI revamp (like NI do with Battery, GuitarRig, Maschine etc).
I think also that ver.4 uses much less CPU than 5. I have no idea, I'm at 5 now, and I don't want to experiment and wait 20 min. for installation :)

One thing I noticed is that if you import your V4 presets into V5 plugins they are amplified and seem louder. If you compare the template sounds they are virtually identical.
If you set the parameters identically the low end in V4 is a little softer and sometimes the V5 sounds seem to have more 'body' and the resonance and higher frequencies are sharper but this is all negated with a few tweaks in the V4 plug.

Like nikon said it is mostly just a GUI revamp. I hacked some V5 plugs apart to compare the code and aside from the browser implementation the engine architecture seems virtually indentical to V4.
One thing I did notice with Modular V and I only noticed this because I use it the most, but V5's Modular V3 seems more excitable/sensitive, in that, a smaller amount of modulation would bring a slightly greater degree of variation. This is very slight, though and sucked for me because I had become used to the the feel of V2's control feedback. This is more Pro than Con though, just took some getting used to.

Here's the same factory preset on both:

Thank you both @Pinkman and @nikon
Will look into it.Its really annoying, especially because im considering buying it, but with so many bugs...
Agree V3 sound a tad nicer, more dynamic.

Arturia programs have traditionally always been buggy. That's why I'll wait until ~2018 to try the version 5. Until then last collection v4 is working perfectly. It's a shame, but that's how things are. It's the same thing with lots of software. At least wait until version 1.2 of something or so. Never, *never* jump the ship on the first new version, especially when the company software has been traditionally buggy like Arturia or FXpansion, Linplug comes to mind also, and Microsoft even more so.

Tell me I'm not right and enjoy your buggy software while I'm making music without any problems. :winker: I don't want to come off as a prick, just stating a fact, and I do feel sorry for the people who have problems! The solution is easy: just step back with everything that gives you a headache and remember that not every upgrade or update is really an upgrade or update! And ask yourself "do I really need it?" It is a virtue to be curious, but it feels better when you can get the job done quickly and easily.

    Cheers! :headbang:

  14. Yeah, I bought SparkLE unit for like 50 bucks. The customer service was better than what people talk about and they sorted out my license issue quickly which was very cool. However, yes, the software is buggy as a a picnic basket left unattended on the ground in a forest. If I have a groove going on it randomly does not play the first beat from time to time and naming new pads is a terrible pita. It works well as a beat box though with the pads and knobs being nicely built , and it was certainly cheap enough to throw cash at without fear of a bad time.

Von it might be Cubase since it does work perfectly in Reaper. I won't go as far as to say Cubase is shitty just stating the fact, that it is working fine in Reaper.

Ok,i dug deeper and noticed that the problem is that cubase records cc data randomly, hence they changes in sound.
But its only happening with arturia so far.Could also by a problem by my midi controller sending out cc data.

    Which controller do you have?
Also get the demo of Reaper just to test it out and see if it works.

If the entire preset is being changed maybe there's a program change message being sent (MIDI CC0)? You could also a program like Midi-Ox to monitor the MIDI data.
