    RAM issues still persists.
For example, add one Group channel, then add another and RAM goes to hell again!

Von this is not to start a DAW war, but this was my main concern for several years about Steinberg and there bugs. They always seem to just release new features instead on really making the program more efficient and faster. Also it seems to me like there QOA is broken.

To me they need to get there act together.

    You are right.
I have a few WTF moments per week with Cubase, i usually just close it and restart the DAW.
As long as i get stuff done...
I do have to say 8.5 had less problems that i am having now, minor bugs....what can you do....life goes on, its still my fav DAW :)

Strange, I have no issues with latest 8.0.40 elements at all.

Ok guys, here is a test project https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ejatj959i6dit9p/AAC8OgPIZ9kaQS0qIX6tNXKJa?dl=0
I made a funny little mockup with 4 Halions as rack instruments with multiouts + REVerance on FX channel.
Now, when I created this template I have 2 x "serious error" errors... and 2 times I had RAM blow outs :)

    1) I created 4 group tracks successfully but error occured when I try to re-route outputs in mixer to groups
    2) Play the song, then go to mixer and try to add and activate sends => REVERB, on first channel ok, then second channel booom RAM 98%

So, just play, and try to add another group for example, or another FX channel with some fx and add sends, etc...
Please, let me know results on your machines.

Did you activate the Steinberg Audio Scheme?
Could be a windows issue or a failing RAM.(test each ram with ramtest.)

No, I did not activate, but my power scheme is set correctly (consume all power, disks never off etc.), it's a standard setting for daw machine.
I think is a version 9 issue. I have not any issue with S1 for example or Cubase 8.
Also, I have got crash with closing Device setup dialog each 2nd time. Open, close - ok, open again - close - crash!
Yes, I know, I did update last night and can only tell that there is no more issue with activating all outputs for multitimbral instrument :) It's a positive news.
    What I noticed more:
    - insert multi Halion, load some patch into slot 1 and I have suddenly latency of 500000 - hit key on keyboard, go into kitchen, drink a water, go back and the sound is there :)
    - close Halion, do something else, click this, click that, go back and open Halion from rack, hit key - everything is ok.
What about "ASIO guard" should I turn it on or off? Someone says to turn it off, and someone opposite?

Well Asio Guard can be tricky indeed, however this is something you just have to test yourself to see how your DAW responds.
I`ve had some errors in the beginning and i also noticed 9er is a bit more sensitive to certain vst instruments.
I dont use Halion.Do you have any of the V.R steinberg stuff installed? If so, that could be the culprit.

Practically any multi-timbral instrument, Halion is here just for example. I never used Halion actually but for this test project.
Yes, I have V.R. and very possible issue indeed. I have to test on regular update.

    That could be the problem.
Although, interesting now that i think about it.I have had some latency issues as well, when i did a new song in 9er.
Only shutting down and restarting helped, but it was more like a 50ms latency, but only on the Xils Poly KB.

no problems , even running games in backgound + browsers and a lot of CPU problematic shit,
here a screenshot, i added even MORE FX watch every channel has REV + aczivated send channels too,
maxx CPU (of Cubase) was maybe 30% btw this game is huge, i left it on just for fun.

something seems wrong with your PC, this is quite a cheap solution 150$ CPU 16GB RAM cost max 700$
my real working PC with no games and internet would be even better
BUT its WIN 7 and i wont discuss why i do NOT and never will use WIN 10.
i work with PCs since DOS 2.11

just for fun i even duplicated all tracks with effects
