On a mac you just have to replace one little system file with a cracked one, done in a minute - and you will never need any dongle anymore … I don’t know if there’s a similar way to do it with windows. I've done it not to save money but because I hate dongles ...

 

This makes me wonder if it's possible to make a custom dongle to use with cubase instead of cracking the software.

You know I had an discussion about this. I do think that the constant back and forth chatter with that stupid dongle slows down the computer but I was told no.

 

Of course it is possible to clone The Dongle but it is probably cheaper and faster to buy Cubase.

 

You can't clone the Steinberg dongle that easy. I tried many different apps and OSs, even virtual OSs, just so my client would be able to use multiple dongles on multiple machines. I'm not interested in using Cubase at all [Reaper works great for me and don't need no fucking dongles] The main problem is that no app that I used could even see it. I suppose the only way to do it would be some kind of a device that could access the data on one and copy that data to the other one somehow. A kind of hardware USB copier. But it should be made specifically for the task.

I definitely know that for my dongle https://www.donglify.net/ program helped, which can clone the dongle and use the keys remotely. Try this option should help. And as far as I remember, it supports all standard OS's.

I've heard told that the current health crisis foiled their strategy, as Wuhan, where the cloning factory is located somewhere reportedly in the central business district between the Yangtze and Han rivers, has been cut off and as well, forbidden to transport goods from the city in fear of spreading the virus and so flattening the plan with the anvil of the Chinese Health Ministry's mandatory city wide quarantine. I guess that it's up to the Japanese to find another way to deliver from bondage, this, perhaps this world's greatest digital audio workstation, and guide it to the mass's collective outstretched hand.
