If you can dispense a few minutes of your life and your concentration is not limited to BigroomPopGagaGuettaKorn, that simply 'enjoy' this (audio)video:

Music: MONO - A japanese Postrock band & one of the spearheads of the genre
Video: A so called ACIDMAN - I don't know him, but I really love what I see

    ....................
If you like(d) that (Mogwai, Sigur Rós, God is an Astronaut & beyond) that have a 'look' on this one:

    Oh, it's so beautiful!

Sorry, I just felt like sharing..

I like the first one better but they're nice overall. Actually, the imagery of the video reminded me of the last scenes of The Fountain with the tree and stuff. They do progress quite slowly though. Anyways... I think you'll like Ulver and Alcest.

It´s nice to find bands like Mono here..
If I have to suggest one track from them, I think L'America from 'Under the pipal tree' is my shot. It´s one of my favourites tracks ever.

Other ambient/post rock artists to take a listen are: Explosions in the sky, Hammock, Helios (all Keith Kenniff´s music is just PERFECT & BEAUTIFUL), Múm, This will destroy you, and so on...

Maybe you want to take a listen to my tracks in HERE

    Greetings from Argentina.

    Carl.

    oh carl,
I really (!!!) enjoyed listening to your tracks. these are simply fantastic! for me the best self-made music made by an audiosex guy so far!
and the Zero 7 cover/remix... nicely done! I really love this (original) track.

    99/100 points ... -1 because you're not a woman. lol.. :bleh: *no*

Hey! Thanks man! I´ve no audio in this pc, but I´m going to take a listen to UnSound soon for shure!!! *yes*
I uploaded a track a few minutes ago (sung by a girl  ), if you want to listen.. but far away from ambient textures. I´s a 'jazz song' I made with a friend.
**(jazz song = a first approach to jazz) I don´t know anything about jazz

    Greetings!!

don't understate yourself too much. the new track is great. pristine and brillant... what about some filtered delay / reverb automations on the vocals and some kind of lo-fi/saturation/distortion fx on the drum fills? could be nice..
anyway... you're really talented! you're postrock and ambient stuff is awesome! what instruments do you play?

..yes, we (my friend and I) talked about make a 'trip hop' version of that song during the 'mixing', it should work well. We´ll like to try some distortion in drums and lo-fi processing, but for the contest´s purposes, the band just asked for a raw sketch of the song, without any sound aesthetic approach, and there wasn´t so much time for tweaking stuff and get a more polished track.

I´m a DELAY LOVER so if we join again with my friend to work in the jazz track, there will be some delay oscilations in vocals for shure!! *yes*

About instrumets.. mostly I play guitar. I love how piano sounds, it´s intimacy and warmness. I started with piano when I was a child, I took a few lessons, but I do not own a piano, so it was frustrating to me to have to go to lessons to play just a few minutes per week, and play just 'the lesson/piece of the day'. So I usualy play guitar, but a lot of my compositions (pc compositions, I dont have academic knowledge to write mucic) are made in piano... plus all the work with textures and sample recycling (I love this part of the process).

By the way.. I´m next to buy my first piano soon! :headbang:

What about you??? I really like the sound of your mixes and your glitched beats work. :phones:

    Greetings.

    haha, thank you!
I don't play any instrument (only a few years of piano/keyboard lessons when I was much younger).
I'm more the kind of open-minded music consumer or listener/analyzer...

today most of my tracks are kinda learning projects. at first there is an idea or goal and then I try my best.

are there any recommendable Postrock or Ambient (related) bands from Argentina I should know?

Mmm.. Ambient/Post Rock is not a preference in here. Some people listen some related bands, but (sadly) it´s not so common to find post rock bands from Argentina. I think it´s because it´s not 'too commercial'. I live in a small city, with a few bands.. I think Buenos Aires has ambient artists for shure, but I don´t now any :dunno: Maybe they´re too 'under' yet.

So.. I can suggest an artist from my city that released an album recently. He is more 'chill out' I think, but also works with some drones and some ambient guitar sounds. Take a listen: http://www(dot)mediafire(dot)com/?gyi25c82bldb7yi

    Greetings.
