Please take these discussions to another more appropriate forum. There are thousands of them on the internet. Politics just does not mix with music, it breeds TOO much hatred and animosity. As does Conspriracy theories and other Controversial Topics. Not a very conducive atmosphere for creative expression, Audio and Music collaborations, and general Audio Lovers. Wouldn't you agree!? So please abide by @SAiNT's rules and do not have these kinds of conversations here. This is not why he created this forum. Do not abuse the spirit of the community, and the privilege of being here that @SAiNT has given each of you and stop this NONSENSE.

EDIT: I left this thread open so you all could see and comment on this rule that has been in place for some time. it is important that we as members here realize that this can tear this forum apart and cause issues between old and new members alike. it is not good and will not be tolerated here. We all have our Own Beliefs, Religions, and Personal Value Systems that separate us in the Real World that exists outside our doorstep every day. I for one am tired of seeing it here, and as you can see as you begin to comment here others are as well. images in humor are one thing, images that involve political leaders, government officials are not because they still incite that anger from someone who has a different opinion belief etc, on and on.

actually there's a lot of russian music that has never been on the radar but it's great and one day it will be rediscovered.

it's a shame to always mix music and politics, i even remember some great pop and classical music from the soviet era, check it out on youtube.
this anti russian sentiment has no reaason to exist, and i'll rather stick with russian tourists than the usual drunken brits.

There is enough hatred even in music related topics. Usually the OP asks a music related question and on the first page a few haters
come in bashing the OP, "what a dumbass he is". That's why I don't post much. Kinda miss the days a few years back when at least
50% of the topics were music related.

 

Sorry @stevitch just trying to make sure this is a done issue here. there are so many reports because of this and we don't need it here. It such a fine line, but i have to make a stance, and I hope the members here that understand the problems it creates appreciate it, and we will continue to try and make this a place for everyone to enjoy.

About time! I couldn't believe my own eyes reading some of these threads. They defy any decent common sense as well as discrediting hundreds of years of scientific achievements by ignorance, displaying a rational that goes straight into post-factual mode just because one does not grasp basic principles of physics!

 

There's need for statements like this either my friend. to each his own belief. as long as you know what you believe in and you are ok let the people on the other end of that electronic tether that you may never meet have their own belief and this place will be a better place to retreat from the mad world for a bit of refreshing music and audio Enjoyment from our otherwise CHaTic lives.

Music is political. My favourite artist is Bob Marley. I love the music, and the attitude (a politics) - and I love the combo all the more. The Wailers' songs are political. "Until, the philosophy, that holds one race superior, and another inferior, is permanently, and finally, discredited, and abandoned......everywhere is war....."

For me, everything is political - and not just for me. It is whether you think so or not - IMO.

I imagine nobody wants wanky threads with vicious opinions being swapped. But I don't know why you don't tolerate the wanky stuff in its own little dark dungeon......and just let it go for what it is. If you had a place where folks could say whatever they wanted, what does it matter? One only need go there if interested.....? Especially if it is about ideas and not the people posting. We live in very political times.....why wouldn't musicians have thoughts - and disagreements - about it all? The craziest thread attracted the most input, right? There's a hunger.

Still, that's just my view, and this isn't my place. I'm only giving my opinion, and it's the frank opinion of a guest. My view would also mean closing down stuff once it was swamped with Nazism. Having space to address issues (like Nazism) is important, but giving that space over (to Nazism) is self-defeating. But abolishing all space for such discussion seems to betray the other wider values that make this forum exist in the first place. (IMO)

OTOH, it's not that important anyway, and it runs pretty good as it does?

One thing I'd ask, am I allowed to post this? Now I don't know.

@G String I Completely, and Fully Understand the argument that you just laid out, but why can we not do so without the vicious name calling and intolerance and hatred because that does not make a forum a happy place to be. it is great if all minds think alike and the music of that group flow in the same vein but when multiple voices and multiple musicians of multiple viewpoints meet in a forum like this they must feel free enough to release their music and free enough to discuss their music without the heavy fist of personal opinions and hatred and name calling and all the nonsense that eventually ends all of the threads that start here of the above-mentioned types. So it has been put to the test here many times and failed. hence the rule

You should know the difference my friends.
