I decided not to use any preset and just synthesize them for being original.

    I give up.

Per Wiki: A sine wave or sinusoid is a mathematical curve that describes a smooth repetitive oscillation.

    os·cil·la·tion
    ˌäsəˈlāSH(ə)n/
    noun
    1. 1.
movement back and forth at a regular speed.
"the natural oscillation of a spring"
synonyms: swinging, swinging to and fro, swing, swaying More
    2. 2.
      PHYSICS
regular variation in magnitude or position around a central point.

It's all a loop. Vibrations are a loop. Time is a loop. Space is a loop. Love is a loop. Hate is a loop. Samples are loops.
The magnetic disk in that floppy is a loop.

    This thread is a loop.

The most primitive and crude attack and slur from the classically trained people and also instrument players for sullying the electronic musics is labeling them as repetitive and loop-based. I can not decline their reasoning from this point that they have learned to respect the music from the note and harmony abundance like I did before because most electronic musics are not considering the pitch as their major concern.

What satisfy them are not usually the sounds and their variations. They're just seeking pitches. Spending their whole life for example on piano for playing it perfectly is their common dream without noticing that it produces just one of the unlimited possibilities in the sound world.

i dont think millennials can fully understand the 80s, every 6 months something radically new came up on the radio ... now everything is stale.
the 80s were probably the most important decade for modern music, especially electronic music.

anyone willing to become an electronic composer should study the 80s carefully, they will also discover that pretty much anything has been done already in one way or another.
there's an endless list of electronic songs from the 80s that were really ahead of their times, i don't even know where to start.
when i hear people raving about the last random track by deadmouse or whatever ... to me it sounds like a badly remaked 80s track .. i mean 808 drums + pseudo TB 303 bass + 2-3 notes resembling a DX7 + some FX .. well that's been done already 30 years ago in any possible shape and size .. space disco, acid house, detroit techno, and everything in between ...
there's absolutely nothing new in what's popular today, i just listened to the beatport's top-100 and there's little to be impressed ... maybe in the Techno and Trance section as they're pushing some sounds to the extreme and i like it but for anything else it's the usual stuff over and over, what they call Deep house was just called House .. the deep house of 2017 is the carbon copy of the house from 1992 .. take a look of many tracks published on Strictly Rhythms for instance, you could play them today on the dancefloor and nobody would notice it's 25 years old !

and thats the point .. dance music in general is a dead man walking, only EDM is pushing some new boundaries.
dubstep i dont know, taht's not music, it's noise and masturbation, people listening to skrillex and friends must be on drugs.

yes, i'm jaded against modern music, that's not a mistery.
    i've good reasons for it.

but i blame the commoners for the downgrade of music in general, they're the one "enabling" stars like Deadmouse and the whole DJ circus.
i dont give a shit where modern music is heading, i can easily keep music as a hobby and live as happy as a pig rolling in its shit :)

i dont have time to follow the next bullshit sub-genre nor i could care the least at this point, there's so much good music that has been neglected that it would take decades to listen to it all, what the commoners would call "obscure tracks" from the past.

Bonobo is great, i've downloaded all his albums (from torrents), nothing wrong with him, you see he's using samples but the final product is good and not boring or too much precitable ... instead bands like Ott or Schpongle are a lot more boring and full of shit, they really want to be the next Ozric Tentacles but ...

hiphop : yes for me it's pure shit, it's what i consider the lowest possible form of mainstream music, i can't stand a hiphop song for more than 30 seconds.
i only support hiphop where the lyrics are about politics, unfortunately there's not many doing that today.
and it's a shame .. the whole idea behind hiphop was ranting and raving against the power and society, there was a clear strong message and the music below the vocals was just there to give you some rhythm, it wasnt pretentious at all, the sound was rough and to the point, now it's game over, you won't hear a single song against hillary clinton or whatever as nobody will publish them and the radio are scared.

Sorry to tell you, during your 20 year coma the internet killed radio. ;)

I agree everything seems a bit stale, perhaps, but the fact is that there is far more music being made today across an infinite range of genres. And we don't have a shared culture in the way we did, so the action might be (surely is, in my case) happening elsewhere.

Moreover, if you remember the 80s (as you clearly do) then like myself, you're actually getting on a bit, old boy. Little wonder the latest and greatest doesn't get you like it once did. You've probably cut down on a few narcotics too. :D It all takes its toll, especially on the sensitive.

well there's nothing terribly wrong in this Draft, it's meant to be a quick & dirty composition that eventually will be later evolved and mixed.
the issue is .. yes a bit repetitive and so a bit boring, but try using some different chords or some transpose .. add a good bass, a little portamento here and there on the lead synth ... the final result will not be too far from an average Deadmouse track ...

if you love this sound i suggest you once again to study the Chipmusic scene of the 80s and early 90s, with 4-Mat being the top author in my opinion.
pure electronic, they were quite ahead of their times, lots of the modern Complextro stuff resembles Chipmusic a lot, you can bet they ripped off so many old chipsongs and give nothing back.

it depends, for instance i dont miss too much of the Ambient music from the 80s, the Ambient/Downtempo/Chill scene we have today is totally better in everything.
sure i'm a diehard fan of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schultze, Ash Ra Tempel, etc. but they're just old classics at this point.

i wish the internet killed the mainstream crap instead of killing many good Indie labels.
modern indie labels dont have too much resources to invest, on the other side they publish things that in the past were considered too risky so there's a clear benefit from the digital revolution and digital distribution.

problem is, there's too much stuff coming out every day, i dont know who's got the time to follow even a specific sub-genre.

i don't think the digital has liberated the commoners, they're no longer slaves to the radios but they just switched to playlists and social network, whats the point ? there will be always a kind of DJ setting the trends in one way or another and the sheeps will follow.

the EDM boom in the USA is the living proof of that and it will soon crash and burn just like Disco did in the 70s.

yes maybe im getting old but after all dance music really get boring quick, how long should i listen to Dance ? 30 years ? 40 years ? thats quite a long time ..
technically the best thing i heard recently was some obscure Complextro tune, i dont even remeber the name but the producer got his shit together, im not a big fan of electro and variants but i appreciate the effort, maybe today there's more space for this kind of stuff and the public is more open.

it's good as soundtrack music, which is sold as "library music" in other terms.
simple, no frills, not much evolution in the chords, but gets the job done in videos or movies where it can be paired with dark/introspective situations.

    for anything else ...

guys before complaining about melodies vs repeats and blah blah blah, let me underline again the importance of the classics because that's the perimeter of action you're supposed to work as a keyboardist and composer.

you may say all you need is a vague knowledge of EDM hits but as a keyboardist you must enlarge a lot your horizons, at the very least you must know the top keyboardists from the past like Jon Lord, Tony Banks, Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson, Ray Manzarek, etc. etc. ... there's an endless list but it will give you a rough idea of what can be done with a keyboard in general.

which actually is nothing impressive compared to serious jazz or classical players, but again you should give it a chance at least or you'll be doomed to remain boxed forever into the EDM bubble.

so, a super classic you can't miss is Tony Banks solo on Firth of Fifth by Genesis, it starts at 03:30 .. believe it or not this was mainstream stuff at the time as Prog-Rock was all the rage for a few years, nobody is doing this stuff nowadays apart for a few prog-rock cover bands as it's considered too technical and too hard to digest for the average listener.
while you're at it enjoy Phil Collins at the drums and then ask yourself if modern 808 beats are worth anything in comparison...

Hey guys, you see. I repeat again my last comment here:
    .
    .
    .
What satisfy them are not usually the sounds and their variations. They're just seeking pitches.
    .
    .
    .
I don't like the keyboard shape and also piano roll. They both cause a big limitation when you sit behind them. I mean music (or whatever you call) is not just playing the tuned, neat and clean sounds in a pitchy fashion by fingers. How many pitches do we have? Usually 12*10 = 120 ones. Music is the combination of sounds that make you feel something. Traditional way of looking at music is so restricted and not answering in 21st century for sound enthusiasts when you'd deal with lots of ubiquitous and strange sounds.

    Or guitar maybe

Or even Carulli or Tarrega and on and on like a loop...

However there's absolutely nothing primitive as far as I'm concerned about also studying the works of Kurt Cobain or EDM and so forth if that's your thing.
Their work is equally complex in its own right and often just as significant as the contributions of Fernándo Sor?
What makes you presume Avenel that your taste is somehow "better" or more advanced or indeed that many people here haven't already possibly studied, diversified and gone back to doing what they enjoy or love?
I mean, I should really say, do you presume that to be the case? :dunno:
Much of what you say has some degree of truth and you obviously have a good deal of experience and knowledge that could help many others
Don't maybe label people as "common" or "drug addicts" and write of their contributions as non important.
In my own opinion it does little to help your cause and immediately puts people on the defensive :dunno:
Many of the artists you have mentioned come from those backgrounds?
Is that their fault or somehow it makes their music unworthy or unimportant?
That's the beauty of music ain't it? :)
It transcends class, race, religion in every possible manner and touches a common aspect :dunno:
That's my only personal disagreement I guess.
Apart from that I think much of what you say has a degree of truth.
I could quite easily have misread your sentiment, intentions or the "words" etc and if so I apologise

That's only one method of sorting pitch. Indian music has way more notes - not 12.
