So I'm trying to keep my plugin list clean this time or relatively clean anyway, but there is a plugin which no matter how many times I refresh the plugin window it will not remove.. it wasn't properly uninstalled either but still, i deleted the actuall .dll so why is it still in the list..

    example :

There must be a registry tweak to manually remove it.

    FL12\Data\Patches\Plugin database\Installed\Generators\VST

See if there's an entry for it in there......and delete it.

  4. Every time I scan the directories the effect is cumulative. Every stock plug is recounte, Edison 15, Edison 16, etc. Even erased they come back from the dead to haunt that darn registry. I cannot figure a solution.

It's in your plugin database, you need to delete the the fst, nfo, png files.
you can get to that folder by right clicking it in the fl browser

Same thing - the entry in FL browser is the same entry in Explorer.

I looked and all my zebra entries in FL point to my standard VST folder. I can't find any reference in the myriad other places they sometimes show. [ProgramFiles, Programx86,ProgramData. Users/user/blahb blah blah nonsense]

    So, I dunno.

You could uncheck all the FILE LOCATIONS in FL, and rescan so the list empties. And then re-add your directories one by one......or search registry. Dunno what else to try tbh.

Or you could admit you have a little OCD, and just forget about it? It's only a lickle bit of text? :D

It's not the VST3 version showing? Will it load?

If you find the Zebra2.info file in that same directory your screenshot comes from, open it in notepad and it will tell you the directory. HZ isn't in there? And doesn't have a .info file? If you have an .info file for zebraHZ it'll say there too where the dll is - not in the FST preset file, as shown in your pic.

For anybody looking for the same thing

It's actually quite handy for building/sorting your own database.
So even someone who isn't interested in deleting a plugin should take a peek there

  11. The shell menu is not my issue. The strange thing is that in this new and improved file system I cannot for whatever reason uncheck any of the locations besides the only one that I gave as an address for my own plug-in folder, which in this case is an SSD drive named G/. All other locations were seemingly automatically picked up during the installation, like various places in the C/ drive.

How can that work whereas doing it in Explorer did not work?

It's the same folder - with the same contents. The FL browser entry is just the Explorer folder displayed in FL. Rightclick and "open in explorer" - it's the same.

IF you migrate/upgrade the config's picked up by new install. Presumably that's how it happened?

  13. @G String .. I did a clean install after ridding myself of 12.1. There are plug-in paths searched that I have never used. I have, since using this computer, always have been pointing to my SSD G/ drive. Now it is for some reason creating paths in different drives that I cannot untick.

Sure. But they *are* the same thing - right-click the list in FL and Open In Explorer is obviously the same as just going to the same place in Explorer. What did you delete - and from where did you delete it? In your 2nd pic it looks like the 64bit version of HZ is in "FLStudio9\plugins\VST" Was the other version there too? I have an older FL12 with a different plugin manager, maybe something changed? Odd.

I don't see how you can delete a file from within FL that you can't get at through explorer. :D

Bizarre. Is there anything in the "new untickable" paths? Anything like plugins or data for music apps?

  16. Freaky. I figured out how to de-tick (I am not so swift about sooo many simple things...I just hovered above the check mark and clicked) and rescanned only within the G/drive and new plug-ins came that were not tagged before. Strange but true.

Its under ''generators''. But I also think its because i never properly uninstalled the *32-bit* version of ZebraHZ that worked with FL9 (old version). Im not sure either why it says FL9 as the directory but maybe thats where i installed it :P thats where the old 32-bit version was installed so maybe i just used the same directory to install the 64-bit version. Lol not too sure. But who cares it worked.

FL for whatever reason never deleted the file in the database browser.. i had to do it manually..but yeah im not sure why but the entry was there but not in explorer..its wierd but it worked :

You wont get rid of it by just deleting it in the plugin database. You have to delete the uninstalled vsts from your plugin picker as well. Took me a while to figure this out and it's a pain in the ass
