Tell me this; I have not seen brass ensembles sampled by SM, nor other symphonic instruments (at least not cracked); so how do you think these SM instruments could be used in symphonies, for example mixed with orchestral tools strings and woodwinds or vsl?

 

All of the usual instruments used in orchestra are already included in the respective SM libraries:
Sample Modeling French Horn & Tuba - contains Horn 1 through Horn 4 and Tuba
Sample Modeling The Trombone - contains Tenor trombone, Tenor trombone 2 and Valve trombone
Sample Modeling The Trumpet - contains Main trumpet, Trumpet 2 and Trumpet 3

In summary, that completes your usual orchestral brass seating.
Of course convolution engine has to be applied on top to get close to wet sound - Altiverb 7 with Teldex IR ought to do the job nicely. Use Stage positioner and map individual instruments where they belong. To save CPU cycles, mono-stereo IRs can be used as SM is mono anyway.

Honestly, I think downloading every new plug-in, software, vst instrument library, etc. has become more of an addiction than a necessity. It's more about adding to your collection and saying you have it more than actually using it. I find myself more often than not going back to the same 3-4 plug-ins mostly because I am familiar and know how to get the best results using them.

Besides, one can never show enough appreciation to all the teams, crackers, suppliers, packers, distributors, uploaders and AudioZ for providing us with this wealth of software to use :D! You can't possibly expect any more from what they've already given on a consistent and constant basis.
