Omnisphere 2 R2R macOS Sierra Installation Problems

Hello I've just purchased a new macbook pro 2016 with macOS Sierra on it and I'm installing all my software and things and I've come to Omnisphere and hit a hurdle.

Basically when I run the installer it should ask to insert disks so it can install the steam folders and stuff but instead it doesn't give me this option and instead just installs the component and vst etc... and then says installation is complete never giving me the option to install the sound database from the disk images.

So the only way to install it would be to move the files in the iso disk images manually but in the pdf of r2rs release it says not to move it manually so I'm at a bit of a loss, don't want to fuck things up and put things in wrong place.

Considering just reverting back to El Capitan but then I don't believe the touch bar or anything would work, can someone offer me up a solution for this I'd be very grateful :)

Okay i managed to fix this by just adding the steam folder manually.

I mounted the first disk and copied the STEAM folder to User/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics

I then proceeded to mount the other disks in order and went through the steam folders of each and added the things that were new in each disk to the same STEAM folder making sure not to misplace anything or delete/overwrite anything from previous disks.

This worked and omnisphere is running perfectly along with all latest updates from the sister site as well as keyscape and trilian which i installed in the same way as i also had a problem with installing the disks for that too.

Hope this helps anyone having similar problems with sierra, pm me if you need a hand i'll be happy to help :)

Thanks! I've got the same issue and will try your method. Which Version do you have. Only 2 or with the update?
Another question... Is it possible to have the Steam content on another Drive (or alias)? Since I have only a 128GB SSD for my Mac System and it would be a pain in the ass to fill it with a 40GB+ Library :D

No problem. The only thing you must do, is to make an alias from the STEAM folder on your harddrive where you have the library from Omnisphere with the whole content. And then put the STEAM.alias to the original place Admin - Application Support - Spectrasonics and delete the .alias (important) name must be STEAM not steam!!
So Omni can find the Content.

hi Cashmeere, im on the new mbp + Sierra as well! I figured it out the same way you did. I stumble on 1 problem, i can't seem to update the patches to 2.3.0c. Installation works, then I tried to patch the component/vst with r2r keygen (incl. in other update) but i get: "patch failed". I need this update to get Keyscape, can you help me out?

Hello move the component and vst to your desktop and then open the r2r keygen and find them in there. You then want to double click the component and navigate to Contents/MacOS and then click the omnipshere dll in there then click patch and it should patch successfully. Do the same for the VST and then move them back to your component and vst systems folder and all should work fine :)

Also make sure you are using the Keygen App 2016 by dada to open the actual keygen exe (can be found on audioz or torrent sites) i know keygens sometimes have problems with wine and other similar apps

Thx for reply! Yeah I moved the files with a USB to a windows pc and tried patching them there. I do have the keygen from R2R named Spectrasonics_2048_KeyGen (from 2015) but i'll give the dada Keygen App a try, maybe that works. I'll let you know.

Anyone that might have the same problem as me:
I solved it by uninstalling omnipshere and installing it in this order:

    1. instal omnisphere 2 (download on other site) patch component & vst file with keygen
    2. instal this patches update
    3. Instal software update
    4. instal soundsources update
    5. patch component & vst files

    Enjoy!

I'm having the same exact problem and am a bit new to the tech world lol.

I mounted the first disk and copied the STEAM folder to User/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics

like you stated above but am having trouble following the steps after this. am i using the installer at all after I have copied this STEAM folder? am i copying everything manually into the STEAM folder?

    Please help, thank you!

Can confirm this approach worked for Omni, Trillian, and Keyscape.

I'm having the same issue over here.. Would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Mounted all of the drives manually in a single STEAM folder in Application Support. Patched the plug-ins. When I launch Omnisphere in my DAW, however, while I can see all of the presets, I receive an error message when I click on one. It either reads something like "could not load waveform" or "could not locate soundscape ... blah blah ... recommend you refresh."

Maybe it has to do with the data installer? Must that be manually mounted as well in Sierra? If so, many of the STEAM elements are already there from my manual mounting of the first 8 .iso drives.

Can someone please advise? I'd be forever grateful.

I'm running Sierra and using Ableton Live as my DAW

You need to follow the instructions in this thread's Best Answer. Copy the Steam data manually into your local Omni Steam dir.

I keep seeing that I need to "patch the .dll's before running the generator." What does it mean to patch the .dll? Is that just opening Omnisphere in the host DAW?
