LOL, good answer, very funny  !

Now, for the samples, when I'm referring to your third (and more detailled) post, something remains not clear to me : if you know this label founder, why don't you ask him the brand name of these sample CDs ?
In fact, 200 € that's not a stratospherical price at all. Just common for a good product. Look at these ones for example :

    http://www.spectrasonics.net/products/legacy/vocalplanet.php
    http://www.spectrasonics.net/products/legacy/symphonyofvoices.php

Not to mention products like Voxos, LASS, Cinematic Strings or VSL...

But highly priced product doesn't always mean best product. Goldbaby's samples are simply fantastic (probably some of the very best beat samples around) and still friendly priced : http://goldbaby.co.nz/

seriously?! all kind of drums are based on the old drum machine. im sure you havnt considered this.
and to think there are always perfect sample cd which costs hunderts of bucks. :bleh:

its always half a way how you process them and how they are processed.

should i guess you are noob? *yes*

top artists using the same samples like we do or they own the hardware like a TR909 or every other old hardware. thats the secret.

I heard that some artists actually create their own samples! Crazy, huh?!?

Who the heck is Kaiserdisco anyways? Why do you want to sound like him? Why not create your own sound instead of trying to sound like someone else?

there is no such thing as a super high quality sample library that'll make you cool instantly. and maybe tell us what kind of sample library you mean.. like just drums or instruments etc. that would be good to know too so some of us can answer you better. maybe someone here tell him what are some proper libraries... good luck

Actually, I find the cinesamples stuff (like Voxos) as well as the new Cinematic Strings library to be incredibly reasonable from a financial standpoint. It just goes to show that money isn't always the best indicator of quality. Take for instance the new cinematic strings library (CS2). Probably one of the best strings libraries I've ever used, and it's $400 dollars. Compare that with something like EW Hollywood Strings, which costs twice that, and yet I find that it falls slightly short of CS2 with respect to sound, although I suppose it's a matter of taste. My point is that those two products come very close to each other in quality, yet are diverge on the spectrum of price.
Anyone can charge whatever they want for whichever library they create, so price is not necessarily a great indicator of quality.

These are the tools you need for that :

    http://www.soundlib.com/cdxtract/
    http://www.chickensys.com/products/sw_iteminfo.php?sw_name=Translator+Pro

Or burn the iso and try Ilio's method (never tested) :

    Q. How do I convert Akai CD-ROMs into Native Instruments’ Kontakt?
    A. Before launching Kontakt, you must first insert the Akai CD-ROM in your computer. If you do not, Kontakt may not recognize the disc. Make sure the browser window is open on the left. You should then see a CD icon that reads Akai next to it. Open the plus sign (+) next to the CD icon and there will appear an alphabetized list of the disc’s partitions. Open any of the partitions and programs and samples folders will appear. To open a program simply click on that folder and in a window below the name of the program will appear. Double click on the program and it will be loaded into Kontakt.

    http://www.ilio.com/support/support-conversion

Finally, here are some notes from a well known team :

AKAI format is NEVER directly Read-able by your PC! It's not an error or a fake! AKAI samples are made on an AKAI Formated Disc. This is the reason WHY your pc-mac can't directly read from the cd and you need CDXtract.
How To Check Your Image Before Calling It Corrupted:
1] put the image [iso, nrg, bin] in DEAMON
2] put the image [iso, nrg, bin] in Alcohol 120%
3] put the image [iso, nrg, bin] in CDXtract 4.2 (or the latest)
4] Then try if CDXtract or chicken Translator can see any of the sounds on any one of the virtual drives
5] Then do a check. If CDXtract is WORKING it will show u all the partitions in the cd/image and you can try to play one of the SAMPLE below the PROGRAM list.
If your .iso looks like a .rar file do this to avoid problems: Open rar and go to options/settings/Integration/UN-SELECT ISO.
6] Use Kontakt, VSampler, Halion or any of your favourite SoftSampler and open the image/cd. You should see what is inside the cd/image.

Artists hire soundeditors and creators to make custom sounds for them.

Make you own shit! Sound design is part of being a producer. You will never have TRUE sonic signature using someone else's creations. Just my opinion but I'm sure plenty of "artists" hire people and what not but why spend money on sounds when you can make exactly what you want?

Anyways I find the most expensive sample cds are usually

    1.) 24 bit
2.) Synthesized/Processed with (outboard) analogue gear

    Check out Wave Alchemy

Noisia left a comment on their web page and claim to use their FX collections.

I encourage you to learn more about the craft and make your own sounds. You'll get far greater satisfaction producing, arranging, mixing your own tracks with YOUR sounds.

You'll be able to do so much more with your creativity without limitations and having to send your shit off to an arranger, mixer ect... just my opinion though. Not everyone can break the steep learning curves of the production process.

If you want to be just an artist that's ok too. I personally would rather take full credit for my works and have my society collecting my royalties and being able to keep my money without having to worry about getting sued! Or even worse sounding like everyone who used the same samples

I guess I'm just big on originality though I get sometimes you may need to reach into your samples (for vocals, strings ect.)

Best Service also make fairly expensive sample cds over 200 € but I think it was a collection of them, not too sure

There is also Albion €350 [Kontakt] (beautiful strings)

There are loads of expensive sample libraries for kontakt! (I think )
