OB-Xd (Oberheim OB-X synth emulation)

discoDSP has announced that it has taken over the OB-Xd synthesizer project. The OB-Xd is a free emulation of the Oberheim OB-X, OB-Xa and OB-8 synthesizers. The OB-Xd synth was designed to sound as good and as rich as the original. It implements micro random detuning, which is a big part of that sound.

This thing looks better than the commercial vst meters...

 

I installed this a few weeks ago as I think it is part of the KVR Challenge and I wanted to check it out. I thought it was OK but got rid of it because the gui was HUGE and I couldn't find a way to make it smaller. This says that it is scalable, so I will try again. Thanks thantrax.

 

Cool to see where the guys are! Youlean was an active user of Flowstone for two years. Created nice stuff! Now he switched to C++ and -bam- first creation makes it a winner. Well done, Youlean, I'm proud.

Didn't check to see if somebody already mentioned Airwindows (AU and VST, 32 and 64 bit, Mac only). The owner changed his business model to PATREON, so it appears that he's now allowing users to download his plugs for free, including Console 4, which is basically the free version of Slate's Virtual Console Collection (you'll notice a few Slate-like plugs here). Lots of useful homemade stuff. No image included because none of his plugins have GUIs.

 

Extent of the Jam added 64-bit support for the windows platform to DiGiTS 2 (#6 on BPB 2016 list).
