    I like the truth.

    I`ll beginn:

/Using reaper is like a trip in the amazon rainforest. settings here, right mouse clicks there... hidden functions under here- how could it be possible to not click a thousand things before using it?

/Cubase is behind in user interfaces. see new cubase 9. lower zone.... now we got rid of the floating transport

Not sure we need another DAW's war thread. The whole 'mine is better/bigger/faster than your's' argument has existed forever for all kinds of things and serves no useful purpose.

You use what works best for you - simple as that.

we need it, to get the frustration off our chests :)

and my secret hope is that maybe a developer sees this and immediately changes their software to our wishes ;)

    as it goes in life...

    one's trash is another's treasure.

i've used plenty of DAWs, and like them all for different reasons/purposes, but feel most comfortable with Adobe Audition. probably because it's what i started with (back when it was cool edit pro).

    use whatever works...for you! :like:

    good luck.

    Your DAW sucks!

MY DAW is the bestest DAW ever!!!

And also my dick is bigger and I piss longer with better aim.

The last statement is in reality what the DAW wars are really about at the end of the day.

    So let's do this...
IF you're gonna comment on this thread, you can only complain about your FAVORITE DAW.
If you use it every day and its the best DAW to you, then you have every right to complain about it. So go ahead.

    Sonar Platinum:

1.) Why oh why can I still not automate effects bypass. Probably due to clicks and level changes as it's turned on/off.
2.) It'd be nice if there was a pre-fader insert as well as a separate post fader insert section.

Really nothing else that I can think of.

Haven't moved to another DAW simply because this is what I started on many moons ago.

Oh, and Cool Edit Pro, but only for really simple occasional audio edits.

    1.) No VST support

I know, can't really complain unless I move to Audition, haha. It just seems a bit heavy for what I'm actually doing with it.

People why you're taking the thread so seriously?
It was kinda clear that the macho-kid wanted to have a fun/vent thread to laugh and get frustration off, especially since today I had a really long and bad day
for me: it's totally inconceivable that no DAW other than fl has A DISCREET (at least) piano roll.
HOW HARD CAN IT BE?? Why do I need to click TWO TIMES to enter a note?!
Ok I get it, maybe it's only for those who can play very well the keyboard... WELL you need to quantize anyway later, so eventually YOU WILL END UP on the piano roll, keyboard or not. Oh wait, I want to add a note on this chord: AHAH JOKES ON YOU, you gotta click twice.. what? wrong size? YOU SILLY you gotta enter the time of the note!!! where are you from, FL STUDIO? ahah, we don't accept your kind here :-----))

Ok but seriously, I really liked Ableton and the way the plugins work and the arrangement and stuff, but really? fucking hell

holy shit, yeah bro, if only a pen tool existed, that you can switch from object select tool, to something that requires single click, known as "The Pen Tool".

I came from FL Studio, after spending one and half year on it, my 1st daw, i switched to ableton and hated it. Couldn't bare looking at it, not more than few days. So, i tried bitwig studio.

Never. Been happier. It's just amazing. If you learn how to use f1, f2, f3, f4, 1, 2, 3, 4 basic shortcut commands, you minimize clicking.

IMO the things that really make the FL piano roll stand out are the slice tool and slide notes. Especially since Sytrus, a $150+ synth, can't glide outside of FL Studio (fuck's sake, really Image Line?)

As others have pointed out, Ableton has a nice note entry mode. One click, hold on note entry and drag up and down for velocity. Keyboard modifiers to do different things with the draw tool. These days I mostly just play notes in though. I spent a lot of time practicing on the Push so I don't have to futz with the piano roll too much. And it's a lame cliche, but quantize always seems to ruin shit for me. I dig the flavor of the little timing imperfections.

Glad we didn't feed into the direction the thread could have been going.

I like the idea of complaining about your daw for a change.

Dear Presonus Studio one, why don't you have the low latency mode like Logic? I CAN'T LIVE without that. Your plugin delay compensation works but its implementation isn't that great. I hate loading up maschine multi output in S1 and hearing my drums delayed as i play them on my maschine studio. Logic disables all plugins temporarily allowing your current track to run smoothly. Please fix. I would love to only use S1 and become a power user, but find myself always loading up Logic to produce just for that feature and then going to S1 for mixing. It's not your software sucks, it's my favorite. It's just that it can feel sluggish at times. Especially when you have other plugs running during production.

I still use Jeskola Buzz. I'm so happy no one (or very, very few) knows about it. It's dead quiet. No DAW wars about Buzz. Calm and peaceful.
Still use Cubase though, but that is obviously another story.
