Stealing and reselling it, is the point. From people like us just trying to get noticed. And then the whole bait and switch tatics with employment for their company. But all they wanted was your presets in the first place.
To any up and coming producers reading this, DO NOT give em your presets until you get a check in hand for the full agreed upon amount. Just lead them along with samples or they will steal your presets and deny you ever worked for them. It has happened more than once now.
I buy and support the developers when I can. I own an iLok2, some slate and waves plugs, countless sample packs (even cymatics), serum..... but they treated me, a paying customer, like sh1t. When I can make money off music (rarely), I will buy the stuff I used to make it in retrospect. Just my way of supporting the system.

Stealing is stealing. I agree with you there is a certain advanced degree of hypocrisy in re-selling as your own, but it is only shades of difference from what everyone else here is up to.

I am sure the guys on the other end of this machine are using the money for buying new wheelchairs for orphans or bulk medicine purchases at the local old folks home.

We're stealing nothing because we wouldn't buy anyway so it's no loss for steinberg, native instruments, fabfilter, spectrasonics ...
Actually we're actively promoting their products for free, i've recommended using cubase to tons of people since the times of cubase on Atari, god knows how much money $$$ steinberg earned indirectly from me, same for me pitching Omnisphere to all my friends online and offline, same for Fabfilter and much more.

As for the ads i don't even accept cookies and still download for free, try setting up uMatrix the right way, i give nothing back even to AudioZ, no popus, no BS, not to mention AudioZ is just a glorified audio blog for lamers, there's a lot more stuff in the underground scene for those with time in their hands, not my case anymore but i wouldnt even touch AudioZ without a proper ad-blocker.

I wouldnt worry about so called "lost sales" from us, let me tell you anyone selling an EQ or Delay for 150$ is making big bucks anyway with us or without us, see Izotope or FabFilter and their overpriced stuff.

I mean, Izotope and FabFilter are the backbone of my FX setup but just because i'm lazy, i could do great things even using free VSTs and with the bundled sound packs of Kontakt or Cubase, actually i could even do everything with a Yamaha Montage and a trial version of Reaper as far as i'm concerned, let's go back to the roots, i'm getting tired of all the BS going on about the latest and greatest FX or DAW .. ProTools being the living proof of this trend, the most overpriced, overhyped DAW, just because someone decided it's the "industry standard", well fuck off and thanks to AudioUtopia.

They meant that they spent thousands on gear for their home studios and new cars to drive them to the sounds as well as new phones to navigate to the sounds, etc. Then they tried to record the sounds themselves and failed miserably at it. Even OTT cant fix the extremely poor quality of their folley/found sound and acoustic drum packs

If I had a friend that was really good at stealing stuff without getting caught and gave me some of the stuff he stole and I decided to wear, even though I would have never bought the stuff to begin with, would it be wrong of me to still wear the gear, knowing it's stolen property?

Like if it was expensive gear, but I could still rock Walmart bought material and feel nice, I still decided to wear the more expensive stolen stuff...

I was never into sample packs, but I've seen a lot of preset packs that appear to not be "from scratch" according to the company / creator info.

 

What if your friend had a cloning device and left the original item in Walmart?

 

what if your friend used that cloning device to clone the entire walmart and then placed it in front of the original store

 

they dont know about copy-pasting the samples to increase their count

Assuming that there is sufficient room available in front of the original Walmart then I can't see an issue with that as one could then enter the cloned Walmart with the cloning device and clone the cloned item in question. That is unless of course you wish to clone the cloned Walmart and place it adjacent to the originally cloned Walmart and clone the cloned, cloned goods there. Just don't go in the cloned changing rooms with cloned mirrors coz that's where it starts to get really very weird indeed.

 

if you clone an item in the clone of the original store does a clone of the cloned item also appear in the original store. if it does, is it now an original item?
